and we are also told to "obey those taking the lead among us". (Heb 13:17).
OUCH.. IT DOESN'T SAY OBEY. PLEASE,...

Perhaps a look at how this word is used in other verses might tell the story.

You are right, it doesn't just mean "obey" The word encompasses all these.....

"πείθω peíthō, pi'-tho; a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty):—agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) conflent, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield."

In the hospital again, writing this from my bed. I still think the author of the OP is grasping at straws.

You are free to believe whatever you wish. Its not my opinion I am expressing....it is the opinion of specialists in this field of medicine....so be careful where you place your trust.
If you watched the video in the OP, the risk is spelled out very clearly. It is yours to take.

Though I do have to ask, do you believe people can die from blood loss? And if so how would you treat it?

There are a number of hospitals within a 40 mile radius of here who have non-blood management sections.
So, sure people die from blood loss, but that does Not rule out the use of non-blood management with the use of volume blood expanders, etc.
How many people die shortly after a blood transfusion ?
How many people die within a few weeks or a few months after a blood transfusion?
How many people get infected by blood transfusions ?
One young man told me his mother went to the hospital for a short procedure and she ended up dying from ' poisoned blood ' that was given her.
He said the family was Not even aware that there would be a need for blood in her case, so why was she given blood ?

I recall back in the 60's city drunks were selling their blood for money.
Also, back in the 60's drug addicts were selling their blood for money.
One co-worker told me her doctor would Not discharge her from the hospital without her getting blood the day before releasing her.
Years ago,one man told me there was a $200.00 charge on his father's hospital bill for blood which he never needed nor received.
So, why Not call a large hospital in your area and ask about treatment with non-blood management.

Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey G3982 us; and we turn about their whole body.

Obey G3982 them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should G3982 not obey G3982 the truth?

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should G3982not obey G3982 the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey G3982 unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed G3982 him, were dispersed
.
I believe in obeying the truth. Is Jesus the truth like he said he is? Who do you obey @Deeje?

I also think that in the context of Hebrews 13:17 some of those other words would fit more aptly. I think it means to always give the man the benefit of the doubt because it is Jehovah who allows his placement.

I am confused. I went into some detail to demonstrate that God's people have always been under the direction of appointed men.

In these last days, men too were to lead God's people in worship. We are told to gather together (Heb 10:34, 35) and we are also told to "obey those taking the lead among us". (Heb 13:17)....for JW's that is our GB. For others I guess it is their own church hierarchy or even themselves if they have a "special" direct line to the holy spirit.

We are all free to find "the faithful and discreet slave" for ourselves. I believe I found him a long time ago....you sound like you have given up on him.
What is your connection with JW's Shak?

Seth, Enos, Enoch, Noah, Shem, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Ezekial, Daniel, Malachi, Jesus, Peter, James, John, Matthew, Thomas. Here are a few of the men God used to leads His people. Please tell us which one was a 'composite' slave that God used.

God's people have always been governed from heaven....through human representatives, appointed by him. Why do we say that our GB are not prophets? Because there are no more prophesies. God no longer uses prophets because the teachings of his son, written for our instruction, are all we need.

Is that true, there are no more prophecies?

Joel 2:28-31 (ESVST) 28 "And it shall come to pass afterward,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
29 Even on the male and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit.
30 "And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

Verse 30 and 31 let's us know that it is in the last days our sons and "daughters" will prophesy.

John 16:12-13 You are definitely contradicting this scripture. Defend yourself for once!
1 Corinthians 3:2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

and why did you claim the video makes claims it does not make?

They obviously save lives. Many lives have been saved by them. A religious perspective does not change the hard fact that blood transfusions save lives.

Please watch the video in the OP or your comment is wasted as personal opinion. The OP is not my personal opinion, but I happen to endorse it as true.
Who wants to challenge the findings of the medical profession's own studies? Seriously?

I wasn't aware that I was hiding behind anything. I happen to agree with the findings of these medical professionals.
They endorse what I have believed all along, that God never designed blood to be shared. It is sacred to him. And I do not think it co-incidental that the human circulatory system is compatible with ordinary sea water.

and why did you claim the video makes claims it does not make?

The claims made in the video for those with good hearing and comprehension, are alarming. The words "morbidity" and "mortality" should never be linked with something that is supposed to save lives. Please watch it again. See what happens when foreign blood is introduced into the body....transfusions impede recovery...they do not save lives in the vast majority of cases. In fact these doctors state categorically that non blood management of patients is the best treatment.

When God gives a command, it never turns out to be detrimental, no matter how it might appear to people at first. The use of blood in medicine is one such incidence.
For decades JW's were ostracized for refusing blood on religious grounds. But when the AIDS epidemic hit in the 80's, everything people thought about blood changed. They now saw its potential for harm and many stopped accepting it, preferring to use the alternatives that JW's had been using for years. The medical profession realized that patients who refused blood did better than those who received transfusions.

It is my opinion that doctors have had the technology to see what actually happens when blood is transfused, but refused to acknowledge it. Contrary to previous thoughts, the transfused blood did not do what doctors expected. It does not improve the oxygen carrying capacity of red cells but actually impedes them. We have the proof in a cytoscope demonstrating what happens when saline is given, compared to a three unit transfusion.....we also have the testimony of doctors in this field of medicine who have been sounding this warning for quite some yeras now. As I said, the words "increased morbidity and mortality" should never be attached to a medical procedure that is promoted as "life saving".

People are free to choose their own treatments or to reject treatment altogether. This thread is an information resource designed to inform those who may not be aware of the situation.

I can not consider this thread an "information resource" when the OP has a blatant lie in.
Then to claim that it is not opinion when in fact it is your opinion...
Then to hide behind the doctors...

Fact is this thread is nothing more than you failing to justify your beliefs to those outside the choir.
And it appears, to some in your choir.

But to each their own.

Perhaps a Google search about bloodless medicine is in order? Then you will see if I am promoting just my own opinions.....or whether those in the medical profession themselves are sounding a warning. This is a profession not noted for its ability to adapt quickly or to accept that something they have been doing for decades is actually harmful.
The OP video shows in graphic detain how harmful blood transfusions are. Can you deny the evidence?

The "choir" is being joined daily by well informed doctors. Thank goodness!! Hospitals dedicated to bloodless medicine are to be found all over the world now, so this proves that it is not something that only 'fringe' doctors are engaged in. Do your homework Mestemia.

Some people need to wake up.

"some people need to wake up"
that would be you.
For you seem oblivious to every point I have made in this thread.
LOL, pretty sad when you have to quote yourself.

Mestemia, I haven't really seen you make any points so far. You have expressed an opinion, but not much else.

Can you prove that the video in the OP is not true? Are these medical professionals wrong, but you are right?
306.gif

There is such a thing as advancement in medical technology, showing what blood transfusions actually do to the human body. The OP video shows that stored blood, transfused into another body does not perform as doctors once assumed.
Transfusion medicine "carries a greater risk of morbidity and mortality than any other medical intervention".....that is a pretty direct statement coming from a specialist. Do you wish to ignore these doctors?

Not as though you have any idea what I am talking about.

Of course, I am making the assumption that you have no clue.
It is possible that you are being dishonest.

Looks like only you knows the truth of which it is.
