I voted no, but it depends on what is meant by "equal." My brain defaulted to "exactly and precisely identical" which is impossible for anything in this reality regardless of what one is talking about. Put another way, we can always distinguish between object A and object B either spatially or temporally and usually by both qualities.

My esteemed friend, may I respectfully suggest that you might be applying scientific standards to a non-scientifically phrased question with hilarious results? :D

there is a feminine counterpart for every masculine.
the equal numbers are not there.

Just out of curiosity what is the masculine counterpart to the feminine trait of compassion, and
What is the feminine counterpart to the masculine trait of compassion? Since both sexes show compassion.

Yeah, my brain is dumb like that sometimes. In fairness to my brain, the poll option did read "perfectly equal."

That aside, there's a curious thing about the stories my culture tells itself. In dialogues, we often seek common ground or use premises of equality in order to facilitate respectful treatment of our fellows. It is sad to me that we need to use that as a starting point. Why can't we use our wonderful differences and diversity to facilitate respect? Why do we tell ourselves that this person has to be like us in order to be respectful towards them? Can't we see how awesome they are on their own merits, with all of their differences from us?

Perhaps you will not believe me, but I used to do much the same thing at least once every day --- but almost 50 years of being made fun of for it by my two insufferable brothers more or less cured me of. Now I only do it once a week, and never in their prescence.

I could not answer the poll without the terms being defined more clearly. Additionally, it is incomplete, in my opinion, because it is presupposing a binary gender system.

I'm collecting information to fine-tune the poll. Your view is welcomed and appreciated even in your own definitions. You can also assume a revised option in the poll and comment according to it.

Not completely equivalent and indistinguishable, but very similar, especially mentally.

Hormones play a large role in developing gender differences in the skeleton and musculature and some other functional areas, which can affect strength, endurance, and flexibility.

Hormones also have a effects on behavior. And the male and female brains are almost the same, but not 100% the same, and with a lot of variability.

Yes, in the sense that everyone, women and men, children, even animals, devas, spirits, and others, are equally deserving of receiving one's unbounded loving-kindness and compassion.

No, in the sense that everyone is clearly not equal in capacity in all respects.

Hi all.

This thread is about the general sense. Specific/special cases are excluded...

The only distinguishment I make between males and females is when it comes to romantic relationships. I only engage in romance with females but other than that, my motto is a woman can do anything that a man can do.
