Are Satanists Important to Your Understanding of Satan?

Well, I've always known I was crazy since I was a little kid, only known I was Satanic for about almost two years.

I am more in-tune and familiar with insane nature than I am with my Satanic nature, and sometimes the edges blur into each other

If true Satanists exist. I always envisioned them as having a tasteful appreciation of classical music, shrewd understanding of history and the powers at play, minimalist taste in art as opposed to 'evil' Satanic imagery of skulls and demons.
So Satanists may be out there. But I think they are preoccupied with more refined interests.

OP: My view of Satan has no doubt been influenced by contact with Satanists simply because I'll have learned something about their viewpoint. Satan is a protean figure after all and the Satan of Satanists is radically different to the Satan of the Hebrews or the Angra Mainyu of the Zoroastrians etc. I'm interested in his various incarnations over the years and from different perspectives.

I'm not going into "Who's more/less Satanic?" though, since I don't see anything productive coming from that line of discussion

Other Satanists affect my understanding of Satan in that they present a challenge. Satanism and my way of thinking in general is about conquering all challenges so that I will grow and become a more powerful "Satan".
The more intelligent and stronger Satanists affect my understanding because they motivate me to become stronger. You get alot of *********** out out there and will do anything to destroy you intellectually or otherwise - bumping into these individuals certainly remind me that there will always be someone stronger around the corner and so this keeps it spinning for me and motivates me to renew myself(Satan) and my understanding of myself. It`s good to be ready.
The opposer works in two ways for me - subjectively and objectively. It`s like this; you can learn the easy way or the hard way. You can either think before you act and embrace your Satanic wisdom or you can learn from the opposer when he`s opposing you.

I'm not so sure that the Satan of most Satanists is radically different from the Hebrew one, just that the philosophy is taken to a level beyond observation, to the Satanist at least.

It is from my observation that the central figure of most Satanists "Satan" stems from the ancient Hebrew and Arabic words that essentially describe "opposition" or "adversary", just like many people that use the literal meaning of a word to describe their belief, instead of what most perceive to be "theistic".

Oh man, I just thought of M-Theory, and how of all the possible dimensions of existence, in each on the physics and potential of each one could possibly be incomprehensible, though at the same time they would all have to possess similar energies. And if it is a very real potential, then we would have to almost be able to interact with them to realize this. And there are words used to describe energy, like energy, but have you maybe thought that words themselves are a form of energy?
