Let's say a god made it. Then so what? Does that mean god made reality the way we think of it as something concrete and objective? Or could have god made to be more fluid or malleable and subjective, maybe the whole thing is nothing more than a god's thought or daydream.

woah... that's even crazier than mine :D I like it! :clap ...

Outhouse is someone who will talk to me. How could I put him on ignore? I don't have anyone on ignore.

You can go to user CP, left side and you will see the ignore section.

There you can add a name of anyone you wish.

Following her advise is nothing more then the fight against education and knowledge ;)

Haha. I know! I did put one person on ignore once. I forget who it was. I know how to do it. It isn't a nice thing to do though. And like you said putting people on ignore is keeping a part of you ignorant. I am way to curious to igore anything although some posts I don't read because of their title. And then, I think I have other things to do.

Whoever it was I took off.

There have been many similar threads of this running.

Im just curious what you think we are. if not real?

After billions of years of evolution.

like I said, perhaps artificial? a simulation? we can already do it in a very primitive form now so what's to say some more advanced civilisation can not do it?

why don't you give your opinion without being nasty about it? I'm open to opinions, I have asked for opinions...

I exist. I am happy to continue to exist for as long as existence last. If I cease to exist I suspect it really won't matter much to me.

Hi all! Firstly I'm neither religious nor Athiest, just to get that out of the way :)

My question is very simple: are we real?

I'm not qualified enough to talk about artificial intelligence/artificial evolution, but isn't it a little bit possible that we are some sort of experiment? to me, this is easier to believe than just to settle with 'god exists, he just does and that's that'.

There's games such as sims, many of you might know it? perhaps we are just a very advanced version of something like this created by a much more advanced civilisation? there's no reason not to believe this at-all, is there? and just like a game, it has a developer/developers, perhaps the developers of our artificial universe are who we refer to as god/gods? and therefore god does exist, but not in a way that many people like to believe or have even considered.

If i am to ever believe in god, then this theory would be the only way. It just takes an open mind. And I find it much more interesting to question things 'that's science' than to just accept what is written in a book and never question it 'religion'.

We'll never have answers, not until we die. Until then all we can do is speculate :/ are we real? don't feel insulted, I'm not referring to god as a game developer lol... but that what it pretty much boils down to :D perhaps i could refer to him as a scientist? I will accept there is a god in this case, but i wont accept there is a god because there just is and always has been.

edit: for me to accept there is a god in the theory i mentioned above, i would need that theory to be proven correct with no doubt. same as any other theory, equally. And no one can do that here.

The concept is not really new.
I think it was Lao Tzu. He awakened from a dream of being a butterfly wafting over a field. Then he wondered,"Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming of being a man?"

Yours is more sophisticated technically. But I suspect that the Truth is as far beyond our ability to understand as your theory is beyond a caveman's ability to understand.
