Tbh I've never heard of someone being led to their path by music, but to each their own. Can't say I know the song, but I'll give it a listen before I claim anything else haha.
I think that the main thing we can take away from a discussion like this is that we all choose according to what resonates with our heart (inner self).
That is as it should be because it separates us out from one another and allows us to make clear choices about what sounds reasonable to our inner self.
That means that we will all end up in the place WE have chosen......and that seems fair to me. God doesn't push us in any direction but simply provides a map and allows us to plan our own journey.
If we arrive at our destination in good shape, then we have chosen wisely...if we don't, then we have no one to blame but ourselves.
Ahh, I see. On my mission, I met a young prospect that was heavy into Devil music....Megadeth, Sepultura and King Diamond......and he told me that "the conjuring" by Megadeth was what started him on his path to Paganism. I was very hopeful that I was going to be able to show him the way to the gospel, but he just couldn't shake the demons out of him.
Ok, ok. So I went and read the lyrics. I wont make any comment about this guy you met or his path or anything, but I just feel the need to dissect this song. At first it seems quite Pagan-y actually, mentioning cardinal directions and other aspects of a classical alter setup (anointing material, oil, candles), but then it sort of takes a turn away from the Pagan and into the Hollywood-bred image of Pagan/Satanic ritual (I list them like that because within Hollywood they're unfortunately usually interchangeable). The song brings up that whole "deal with the devil" idea, and I assure you that kind of shifty deal making is no common practice amongst Pagans! It sounds more like something that would come out of those who convert to be "cool" or "dark and mysterious," or potentially from Theistic Satanism, which sometimes embraces that sort of imagery. I don't know what my point was with this, but I just had to put it out there.
In a way, I actually was led to my path through music. It was reading the lyrics of bands like Dissection what made me research what they are talking about, and without that I still might not know what Satanism even is. I still feel kind of a spiritual connection to them, even though I have quite a different theology, being not a Gnostic.
Such rather Hollywoodesque texts like the one mentioned would rather be a turn-off to me, but whatever, there certainly are people who are into such as well.
