Road Warrior

Seeking the middle path..
Thank you. I wish you could know how much that means to me. Mist in my eyes now.
Thanks. Not only happy to help but I’ve walked the walk. It wasn’t always easy, but I’m happier for it. Both of my younger brothers make more money than I do; one 3X more and the other only slightly more (about 10-15K). The 3X more couldn’t wait to retire and now has at age 57. He would have retired earlier, but he, IMO, was overly generous in a divorce and had to spend 5 extra years restocking his retirement nest egg. I love my job and, while I am looking forward to retirement at 65, I’ll miss it.

Trust me; the best retirement is...a change of career. If not a PAID one, something interesting!

Agreed. My new career will be a part-time welder/part-time fisherman....occasional hog hunter. I’ll also go back to CAP as a LtCol and flight instructor.

Yeah...I'm nearly seventy and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

On the other hand, I don't think I've done TOO badly so far. Failed a lot, Succeeded some, my kids love me and my parents think I'm OK, still. That's sufficient for my needs, I believe.

I think we learn more from our failures than from our successes.

In your opinion, would you consider yourself a failure?

Jesus was the most successful person in the world and he was born in a barn and dirt poor. He was crowned with thorns spit on and crucified. That is failure!

I can't think of anyone more successful though. Something good may become of your failures.

I have failed at many things in life. I have learned from these experiences and have done my best to prevent repeating such failures. Therefore, I do not consider myself a failure.

Changing behaviors that lead to failure breeds success.

Same here. Fulfilled a lifelong dream of playing in a rock/blues band just in the last couple of years. You're never a failure until you give up.

What if I give up failing? Would that make me a failure at failing?

Wouldn't that make me successful at not failing? I would, in essence, be successful at giving up.

Prove to me Jesus is real then we can discuss if he was truly successful, otherwise I can make up fictitious individuals to claim how successful they were.

I'm not a failure. I've never been a failure but at times I thought of myself one.
