Are you afraid of flying?

I love flying. :)
I will never understand how people can be afraid of something so sublime and beautiful.
When you are at 10,000 meters above Earth, you feel like you are in another dimension. A spiritual one.
I always manage to get the seat by the window. I have to watch the clouds. It's a spiritual necessity.
That's why whenever the plane starts descending to land, I feel a horrible sensation: abandoning that state of joy. It's ugly.

What about you?
;)

Once there was this guy who looked terrified. Next to me.
Maybe it was his first time.
We switched seats because he didn't want to see from the window.
I said to myself: Thank you God. God exists.

I don't mind. As a little one I was enthusiastic about flying. I wanted to be next to the window. I would point to all the little"ants" on the ground. I also remember asking how could I open the window so I could hang my hand out. Now a days, I just don't mind. I occasionally have to fly around.

Many people fly just once or twice a year.
But they always enjoy it.

Not quite true some people hate it are frightened of flying but they have to face their fear.

Last time i flew to the UK there was a guy sitting next to me, clinging tight to the chair arms during take off and landing. He told me he's really scared of crashing and mo matter how often he flies he still has that fear

Did you know the windows on passengers planes have a tiny hole in them?

"While most people like to have a window seat on a plane to enjoy the view, did you ever notice that there is a tiny hole at the bottom of the window? The hole is not there for its aesthetic appeal but to help you keep safe."

I'm glad I didn't know that at six years old. I would have found a way to exploit it to my advantage.

Falling not so fine.

IMO its not the flying, its the fear of heights, crashing, etc.

Badly named, i think it should be fear of depths. Heights is looking up, most people can look at heights with no problem. But when you are up its the depth below you that can be scary
