Yes, I am ... although being in the mid 60s I'm not sure my bits will be much good to anyone.

You can still be an organ donor while alive.
You serve as an excellent storage facility for
someone else's life saving organs.
I know. One of my new-found nieces just had very needy kidney installed last year. It took a long time to find a donor (I tested incompatible.) Although this orphan now has a very, very large family, strict monogamy does not appeat to be one of its more important values, so there's a lot of genetic variability. But ineed, eventually one cousin turned out to be compatible, and was more than willing to donate, so...happiness.

I mean, I don't know who'd want my stinking guts, but they can have em. Maybe they could build a gruesome snow man with whatever's left. A meat man. :D

In other words, If my carcass can be put to some use after I die, good! Otherwise, I probably won't really care about what happens to it after I die.

Do you know how many poison and heavy metals are in a human body? You are bio-hazzardous material. Burning at high temperatures at least destroys PCB and other chemicals.
You must weigh that against the greenhouse gas
generated by cremation.

I want to be cremated. I find it creepy to donate an organ(s) to tell you honestly. Right now, no. When I'm dead, they can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't put a financial burden on my family.
That's one of the nice things with organ donation, the hospital pays for elimination of the bio hazzard, at least here. Zero cost for my family.

I am beginning to rethink that zombie alternative:

Losing a few organs does not seem to bother them. Must mull over this a bit.

I'm watching an episode of Nova about organ transplants.
One odd claim....Canuckistanians are less prone to donation.
True or not...I wanted to survey RF about it.

If you won't be a donor, please explain why.
Let this not descend into criticism of people's choices, eh.

BTW, I'm donating everything....whether they want it or not!

I'm a registered donor.

When I asked for a new ID...I was given a form. To fill out.
Biological testament. There was the question: "do you want to donate your organs when you're dead?".
I wrote yes. :)

I think the "when you're dead" option was the smart choice.

Edit: I yam also registered as a donor.

RF is really a special place. People from all different religions but a 100 percent agreement on organ donation.
