Sure, but not if they think the people trying to impeach Trump are part of some evil conspiracy to make Pence president. The simple truth is that Trump is just a really unpopular guy and that is why so many want to see him impeached.
.....but anything is possible imo.

I'm just wondering what the general consensus is at this forum, so if you could please vote that would be great. From what I see on twitter and elsewhere, it seems the vast majority of Americans do not like this guy. I'm surprised He got elected. What do you think the chances are of him getting impeached?

I voted no. But, I'm glad he won over Clinton. I wish Romney were in his second term now. My hope (maybe a pipe dream) is that after Trump, the left will not be so quick to vilify reasonable and rational Republicans.

I keep hearing people trying to pin this on the Left, but let's not forget it was the Right that nominated Trump. Almost anyone would have been better than Trump.

Yeah, I tend to agree. But let me give an example. I like Romney a lot. I was impressed when he blasted Trump. When Trump pretended that he might want Romney as Secretary of State, the left wing media went nuts on Romney for "kissing Trump's ring" and being a hypocrite, now showing his true colors. They were blasting Romney, a reasonable and fair man, for being willing to serve under Trump. The way I see it, if you're a good man with tremendous capacity and the President calls you to service, you go! It doesn't matter if you voted for him. It doesn't matter if you respect him. The fact that you will serve the people, means you have a chance to influence things for good. But the media just jumps all over his case. They don't seem to recognize a good man when they see one. This media behavior makes me enjoy seeing Trump, who I don;t really like, beat them up.

If you can read this, you are as lucky as I am.
I voted no.

I do not agree with his political positions. I also do not agree with his tactics in his pursuit of those positions.

There are no grounds to impeach him. His moral and emotional disabilities are not grounds enough to push for his removal.

Besides, he's creating a generation of liberals that will never let a chance to vote pass them by again. . . We learned our lesson and we won't ever forget it. We outnumber these alt-right losers 2:1, and we're starting to realize it.

I've got to give him credit for that.

What impeachable crime has Trump committed?
Compromised national security due to financial and partisan conflicts of interest.

Of course, we won't know for sure until there has been a thorough Senate investigation. Thorough!
Perhaps Mitch McConnell wants to enlist the Clintons to spearhead one. They have a lot of experience in Senate investigations.

Suppose it turns out that the GOPe, like Romney and Rubio and the Kochs, really meant what they said during the primaries? That they are now helping Trump pay out enough rope to hang himself?
How better to do it than let Trump run amok for a bit, then find themselves unable to prevent the Demoncrats from impeaching him? Everyone who matters knows that the Demoncrats will stop at nothing to destroy America.

I think you are really stretching the word "conspiracy" to support a notion of some diabolic plot. Also it is not really a conspiracy (a secret plan) if they tell everyone what they plan.

What diabolical plot? Who is telling everyone what they plan?

All I am suggesting is that a batch of politicians are lying for political gain. They pretend to be Trump supporters while they have to. They'll be just as quick to stab him in the back when they get the chance. He's a neophyte in the DC shark tank.

"What diabolical plot? "

Savagewind, the person I was talking to, was the one suggesting a diabolical plot. If you are gonna jump in the middle of conversation you should back read all the related post.

Hmm. This one has to wonder if this is symptom, not cause. It seems clear that there are some significant, underlying issues that could fuel a revolution one way or another. Someone like this person getting elected seems symptomatic of the revolutionary to me. But who knows...

Very true. The dillemma is that Trump is manipulating his supporters (who may have genuine concerns that won't dissappear even if Trump wasn't in office). Impeaching Trump doesn't resolve the underlying social problems, nor get rid of his cabinet as part of the line of succession.

I'm just grasping at straws as I'm not ready to swallow the idea we have four years of President Trump. Dear God!

Polls like these don't actually give you an accurate measure of general consensus. Really they are more or less for fun, rather than informing you on how the members of the forums feel.

@PopeADope RF politically leans heavily to the centre left too and that generally determines which side wins in most polls. Its a bit of an echo chamber in that sense even if centre right/far right/far left views do get occassional representation among the membership.
