Hello everybody.this question to all members of RF whatever their faiths (theists or atheists)

I just want to know which more, the believers or disbelievers in God in RF community, how much percentage.

1- Do you believe there would be hereafter (hell/heaven)
2- Do you believe God will judge us for our deeds (good/evil) ?
3- Do you believe God sent messengers to humanity ?

I made a poll , so please VOTE :)
note: I intentionally don't add "I DON'T KNOW" option, to get specific/final decisions.

Voted "no". This could be interesting. :)

1. No, I believe there is no afterlife.
2. No, I do not believe god will judge my deeds. (I do have a sort of secular humanist alternative that my life will be judged by its works by my descendents, if I am to be judged at all)
3. No, I do not believe that god sends messages to humanity.

I'm not a believer in God; I've known God since birth, and had first hand experience of God all my lifes.
  1. So i don't believe there is a hereafter; I've had a NDE, experienced both Heaven and Hell, can explain it beyond current known quantum physics more or less.
  2. God doesn't judge us only for our deeds; yet our character, and ability to live Oneness.... Yet really we judge ourselves more than God does; we keep ourselves in Hell, as we don't want to see our own reflection within the light of Heaven.
  3. I've known many of the characters sent from Heaven, and can show where they interlink across time.
You keep using the word belief, which always contains an element of doubt....Personally like to deal with facts, and experience. :innocent:

1- Do you believe there would be hereafter (hell/heaven)
No. Those things only exist for the living.

2- Do you believe God will judge us for our deeds (good/evil) ?
No. It is not for God to judge people, but rather the other way around. We should judge all conceptions of deity that we happen to find.
3- Do you believe God sent messengers to humanity ?
No. I am not an Abrahamist. Truth be told, I find that a rather exotic family of beliefs.

If you can read this, you are as lucky as I am.
1- Do you believe there would be hereafter (hell/heaven)
2- Do you believe God will judge us for our deeds (good/evil) ?
3- Do you believe God sent messengers to humanity ?

No in all three questions.

Also want to quibble about the language a bit, if you don't mind.

I think question 2 and 3 should read:

2- Do you believe a god or gods will judge us for our deeds (good/evil) ?

3- Do you believe a god or gods sent messengers to humanity ?

Thanks for the poll.

1- Do you believe there would be hereafter (hell/heaven)

No. I believe souls of the deceased stay on earth to help their family and people in general as to guide us before we join them. Hell isn't in my faith. I guess it would be heaven (different context) to be with family; but, it's not heaven as described in biblical text.

2- Do you believe God will judge us for our deeds (good/evil) ?

No. God is life. God is everything. I guess "judge" is an inappropriate word. We have consequences or blessings because of our actions. I guess consequence is a form of judgement but I prefer to say both consequences and blessings are a result of our karma/actions.

3- Do you believe God sent messengers to humanity ?

No. Each of us have the ability to help others in their spiritual walk. There doesn't need to be specific people to do that. We can all take vocations as messengers if we work together. No hierarchy, just different roles and working together as equals.

I voted 'Yes'. My impression is that Religious Forums is about 50/50 on what I would call believer-types and nonbeliever-types. So far, the poll is confirming my impression.

I'm very glad I'm not part of Hitlers, Jeffery Dahmer's or Charles Manson's family!

Haha. Well, I have criminals in my family, so I don't call everyone for help. Those that do help don't seem to be, well, bad. Also, what Hitler did was in this time. I did some bad things in my life and I did good. If I were to die tomorrow, I would never want my nieces to not call on me all because of my bad deeds. I'm sure Hitler and those other folks weren't all bad as we make them out to be. They are human just like us.

1 - yes
2 - yes, but not entirely as we have read. I don't think anyone could know for sure, because no one died and came from the dead except Jesus.
3 - yes

I voted yes. But the answer to all three questions is mostly "No", entirely no to the last one.

I believe that the universe exists, and I think of the reason for this as the closest thing to god we humans are currently able to grasp. But there is no reason to believe that God cares or thinks or has plans or feelings or any of those sort of things. Those are all things humans do. And I believe God is so far beyond anything humans do or don't do that attributing these behaviours to God is just fictional hubris.

We commonly create a God or Gods in our own image. But that is all about us, nothing to do with God.

Maybe there's an afterlife. Pretending someone knows about it wishful thinking. It would be nice, perhaps, if there were some cosmic post humus justice. But there is no reason to think so but wishful thinking. The premise that long dead people who were pitifully ignorant about many simple things knew more about God or ethics or physical reality than we modern people do is ridiculous.
The idea that God was willing to tell things to Moses, Jesus(or His apostles), or Muhammad, but not the overwhelmingly vast majority of the rest of us is simply too primitive for me to believe. I am confident that the only important way for us to learn about The Creator is through the honest and meticulous study of Creation. That is called Science. Prophets were just making up things that appealed to their audience.

I've voted yes in the poll, since I think it more likely that the universe was created by one being than by a committee, but I wouldn't say I believe that.

Is there an afterlife? Yes, but I base that on philosophical arguments, not on religion. Will it involve "heaven" and "hell". No.

Will I be judged after death? I don't know, but I doubt it. The idea of a judgement is linked to heaven and hell, and it's only taught by certain religions which I reject.

Has God, the creator, sent messengers to mankind? Not as far as I'm aware. If she exists, I think she just likes to watch the universe and see what everyone gets up to. The gods don't often send messengers, but they often talk to people directly.
