So were is our disagreement? Oh, yeah, you are still downplaying it (and I'm still exaggerating it).
Maybe we should try to see it from a different angle?
What would be a proper punishment for teaching creationism in science class (or advocating such)? For the Dover school board it was about $1M. Justified?
The proper course...
Take state & local governments to court every
time they engage in unconstitutional behavior.
Force compliance. Impose costs.

It wasn't taught in the sense of "God made the earth in 6 literal days". It was thought in the sense of "this is a theory that is out there and some people believe it".
Teaching it as on par with a scientific theory, and letting students decide for themselves whether they believe it or not, is not anything that is considered scientific, nor should be taught as science. A scientific theory, is not assumptions and guesses. It's a model of the data. It is a scientific model, and as such it is science.

Anything that makes claims about the origins of the earth without using science, is philosophy, or religion. While those may be ways in which to view reality, they are not a scientific reality, nor should be taught in a science class as an option to science. The class is about science, not religion. You don't teach a class that teaches science, and then bring in non-science as science. That is a disservice to the student's education.

I agree.

How much had Donald Trump to pay the students of his fraudulent business school? I think the students should be compensated also for not getting an education. Maybe the school should pay for the tuition to reach university fitness?
And I don't accept the argument that that money has to be taken away from the school funding and make it even worse. Just raise taxes. That way those who are essentially responsible for the miss-education do pay for it - those who voted politicians in like the ones who proposed that bill.

Definitely not child abuse but there are some things I heard being taught that would be considered child abuse but that’s for another day.

Arkansas State House Republicans Pass Bill Allowing Creationism in Science Class

These children will have a lot of catching up to do when they leave school and join to the real world.

Hi Altfish. Good evening. More catching up than teaching the lie - and a horrible lie it is - that humans and chimpanzees share a common ancestor? The real world has a prince in charge of it (John 14:30) and he is called Satan and he has blinded the eyes of the unbelieving (John 12:40).

You can call it a lie; but it works, evolution is happening today.
Like it or not Humans and Chimps share 98.8% of their DNA.

I think Satan has a better scientific upbringing than god

Honestly, if I had to choose someone to share DNA with, I'd choose chimps over a good number of humans any day.

Which is why this is unlikely to pass. It is likely more of a form of pandering to the uneducated Arkansas Republicans than anything else.

We all will be accountable to God for what we teach, that’s why I’m teaching my children the truth of Scripture and how good God is.
In this allegedly secular country, we should be able to hold legislators responsible for passing laws that belong only in theocracies. If this does pass and get signed into law, I'll bet there will be a lawsuit filed almost immediately.

Parents should be in control of what their kids are learning in school. Should be able to opt out of any class you don’t want your child involved in. Seems simple enough.

Kids should be able to sue their parents for missed education. If parents are allowed to make decisions for their kids, they should also be made responsible. Seems simple enough.

What are you considering creation education? Abiogenesis, which is impossible? I haven’t heard any explanation that makes any sense other than the Genesis account, the biblical account of history is the only one I would trust. What education could they possible miss by learning the Bible? It’s been the opposite for me. I’ve learned more about life from Scripture and God than I ever learned from public school. Not saying everything was bad in public school because there was plenty of good things. I really missed out not knowing about what God has to say about life, ended up making a lot of bad decisions because of that and didn’t know why my life was a mess.

What are you talking about? I just said that parents should be made responsible for their decisions. Do you agree or not?

Yes of course, but that’s not exactly what you were saying is it? There are abusive, irresponsible parents and ungrateful, rebellious kids. There are great parents and great kids. I would say if you have good parents and you’re a good kid you would be grateful for the love, support and provision your parents gave you, if you’re not then you have problems.
