As a man or as a woman?

If Christ returns, will Christ return as a man or as a woman?

Christ has already been here as a man. So, wouldn't Christ return as a woman next time in order to be "fair and balanced"? What do you think?

Why would He need to? Christ came, and accomplished His work...He rose afterward with a new body. Christianity has always regarded this incarnation as permanent, so we don't expect Christ to change genders, excepting that gender be made obselete.

Well, suppose Christ did come back as a woman...What would be the meaning of that?

It would mean that His work on the cross wasn't what it appeared to be. That would be a reincarnation, and thus, salvation still has more that needs to be done. Thus, all of Christianity falls.

*grumbles* I still say a zombie, but no one ever listens to me. Oh, yeah. There's a reason for that.

I would say as a woman, because he enjoyed playing with people's preconcieved notions.

Same here, but that's not the point. The point is what is the meaning of Christ's gender? Why was he male? And is his maleness something essential to him, or merely superficial?

The meaning of Christ's gender is that men, males, wrote the bible. His gender is essential to a male dominated religion.Women in the bible are ,for the most part superficial. My point is there is no one to come back because he was never here so the question of gender is just taking up space.

He was male because the patriarchal society that invented him couldn`t conceive of following a woman.

Christ will come back as a gay male and immediately begin searching for another gay male to marry--unless George W. Bush has made that impossible. :)
