As fast food prices rise, Wendy's costliness soars past Burger King and others

Twilight Hue

Study: Wendy's is the most expensive fast-food chain. The cheapest? Taco Bell

This article talks about a few things - the increases in fast food prices, and how Wendy's saw some pretty hefty increases in costliness as well.

Meanwhile, in my local area, I am still mostly satisfied the prices at my local Burger King.
I remember when a combo meal was just three dollars and fifty cents.

I don't even bother with fast food anymore. It's just not worth the tiny portions they serve at clearly rip off prices.

Food gouging is a thing with them now.

I mostly agree with you. One thing which has taken a hit for me when it comes to enjoyment of fast food, is just how much my local McDonald's has been charging for items lately.

Yea and the food, if you want to call it that, is horrid and nasty tasting.

We seldom eat fast food. Its actually a better deal to go sit down somewhere, though overall, I've stopped enjoying restaurants(I can do it better :D).

When it comes to fast food, our options are pretty limited(due to vegetarianism), and places like that tend to hike the price on specialty items.

We went through a Burger King drive through once, and ordered everyone a patty and fries(there were 4 in the car that day). When they told us the total was over $40.00, we canceled the order.
I hope these restaurants go out of business.

I won't miss them in the least.

Maybe. I still like their fries, though.

Last I checked locally at my McDonald's, you can still get a single hamburger which looks like an elephant sat on it for $1.29, but combos now cost in the area of $10, and adult happy meals, I think are running $11-$12.

That's the thing. Aot of companies are price gauging right now under the guise of inflation.

The price increases are a direct result of increased labor and fuel cost.

The only fast food I patronize is Taco Bell. They're the only vegetarian friendly fast food chain.

I use the term "food" loosely in this post.
Taco Bell is vegetarian?
Color me skeptical.

How do you know this?

BTW, as real estate prices are now dropping,
I'm being hit by government with big assessment
increases. At least with businesses, I can shop
for the best prices. But I can't uproot a house
or office building, & move it to a more tax friendly
township.

Well, at least we're not reduced to eating Soylent Green.

Fastfood places are starting to jump on the faux meat trend. Although some of them fix it on the same grill as their meat, which a lot of vegans aren't happy about.
It is almost impossible for a restaurant to offer both regular (which means it caters to our omnivore nature) diet and a vegan one. That is not really the fault of the restaurant. They often do not have the facilities to do a pure vegan diet since the restrictions are rather high. But at least they are doing the best that they can.

Would you rather see no vegetarian options at all? I would take it as a win that they are showing interest in food that could eventually help to change our diets.
