Makes sense, but cost of labor would have to factor into price as well. They can buy very bulk, whereas an individual can't.

I remember when a combo meal was just three dollars and fifty cents.Study: Wendy's is the most expensive fast-food chain. The cheapest? Taco Bell
This article talks about a few things - the increases in fast food prices, and how Wendy's saw some pretty hefty increases in costliness as well.
Meanwhile, in my local area, I am still mostly satisfied the prices at my local Burger King.

I don't even bother with fast food anymore. It's just not worth the tiny portions they serve at clearly rip off prices.
Food gouging is a thing with them now.
I'm sure chains who do their own distribution would have long term continental contracts directly with farmers or farm co-operatives. The discount would be substantial.Makes sense, but cost of labor would have to factor into price as well.
Pretty bad isn't it?"25 bucks for a salad???"
Yea and the food, if you want to call it that, is horrid and nasty tasting.I mostly agree with you. One thing which has taken a hit for me when it comes to enjoyment of fast food, is just how much my local McDonald's has been charging for items lately.
I hope these restaurants go out of business. We seldom eat fast food. Its actually a better deal to go sit down somewhere, though overall, I've stopped enjoying restaurants(I can do it better ).
When it comes to fast food, our options are pretty limited(due to vegetarianism), and places like that tend to hike the price on specialty items.
We went through a Burger King drive through once, and ordered everyone a patty and fries(there were 4 in the car that day). When they told us the total was over $40.00, we canceled the order.

Restaurants buy all of their ingredients in bulk. Stores gouge you for buying things in small portions.Wouldn't restaurants be selling at a loss?
That's the thing. Aot of companies are price gauging right now under the guise of inflation.I remember when a combo meal was just three dollars and fifty cents.

Taco Bell is vegetarian? The price increases are a direct result of increased labor and fuel cost.
The only fast food I patronize is Taco Bell. They're the only vegetarian friendly fast food chain.
I use the term "food" loosely in this post.
Taco Bell is vegetarian?
Color me skeptical.
How do you know this? That's the thing. Aot of companies are price gauging right now under the guise of inflation.
I've even ordered such fareI saw some non-meat items last time I went.
You can substitute the meat with black beans.Taco Bell is vegetarian?

Too late. It is out of stock:Well, at least we're not reduced to eating Soylent Green.
It is almost impossible for a restaurant to offer both regular (which means it caters to our omnivore nature) diet and a vegan one. That is not really the fault of the restaurant. They often do not have the facilities to do a pure vegan diet since the restrictions are rather high. But at least they are doing the best that they can.Fastfood places are starting to jump on the faux meat trend. Although some of them fix it on the same grill as their meat, which a lot of vegans aren't happy about.
