Ask me anything!

Well, I'm sort of going off A_E's thread about his beliefs, except you can ask me anything, not just about my beliefs (well, anything about me or my beliefs - you can't ask me unrelated things). The only thing I'm not going to answer is my name. :D If you ask something else that I don't feel comfortable answering, I'll tell you then, but I can't think of anything else. So, fire away!

Okay Aqua, I'll bite!
What made you decide to become LDS? What was it that turned you in that direction? Was it a friend or a family member or just something you read? :)

It was a friend (sort of). When I was in high school, I had a spanish teacher who was LDS. Sometimes I would go into his classroom when I didn't have class to hang out (since I really couldn't go home) or to get spanish help. One day, after having him help me translate some stuff, we started talking about nothing in particular. I don't remember how, but it got onto the subject of religion. For some reason, what he said made me reply with, "Well, at least Quakers can realise that they aren't the only right religion!" He replied, half jokingly, though (IMO) factually, with "Well, we are the one right religion!" That pretty much stopped me in my tracks. I didn't have a response to that. But we kept talking, and I hashed out some of the routine anti-mormon stuff that everybody knows, which is definitely not true. He told me that isn't true, and encouraged me to do my research (starting with reading the BoM). I did, and then spoke with the missionaries. I had like a billion discussions with them before I even would consider that maybe their religion is at least logical, if not true. Finally, I prayed about it, realised it was true, and got baptised!

I noticed that you listen to a lot of Spanish music. :)

Do you want to teach middle school and/or high school students?

What made you decide to take Spanish and Religious Studies?

Yeah. Music is agreat way to learn a language

High school

What made you decide to take Spanish and Religious Studies?
Spanish, because I'm good at it, and I want to teach something that I'm good at. :D Religious studies because I just love religion.

No. :D I thought I would, but I don't. Sometimes I miss my dogs, but never my family (because I talk to them frequently enough as it is) and never my home (because it's really boring at my house). Sometimes I miss my friends who still live back home, because for some reason none of them ever return my emails (hmmm, maybe they weren't really my friends :D). But that's it.

I absolutely love my church. It's a YSA ward (young single adults) and all the people in it are so friendly. They welcomed me in with outstretched arms, and they're all really helpful. A lot of them are really funny, too. :D The services every Sunday are from 3-6, so every evening after church we have a meal. On fast sunday it will be a huge meal, but other days it's smaller stuff like bagels or nachos. There are also a lot of fun activities going on throughout the week, like basketball.

After college I hope to married to a man with a couple of kids. Before I get out of college, though, I would like to go on a mission (when I turn 21) for my church. After I'm married I will either stay at home or work, if I need to. If I work, I would love to teach high school spanish either or up here in WAshington or back in Oregon, maybe at my old high school, and coach shot put for the track team.

What do you think of the people on RF? Who do you like? Who do you dislike? Who do you wish would drop off the face of the earth? Also, have you heard any good gossip, lately? Anything really juicy? I don't care who or what it is about. I just want details...:D

As an English-major I feel it is my responsibility to ask if you want to marry a man and then have a couple of kids or if you want the man you marry to already have a couple of kids? :slap: :D

Most of them are pretty cool, but some aren't. I really hate the ones who get on my case for "trying to change people" while at that selfsame moment trying to change me. The hypocrits like that. I also dislike the people who all they do is give complements to some people and building a sterling reputation and really all they do is undercut and riducule almost everybody else.

Who do you like?
I like a couple of categories of people. There are those who just know a ton of stuff, like Jonny. He could answer almost any question with a ton of links and stuff. Also deut, though he seems to be a bit more reserved when it comes to sharing knowledge. Then, there are the people who will stick up for their beliefs, without trying to change anybody, and who take a lot of flak for it. I admire their perserverance, like Fat Kat Matt. He just said what he believed (not tactfully, but that will come) but always got shot down for it. Then there are the funny ones, like Nutshell, SoyLeche, mr.guy, Halcyon, and many, many more.

Who do you dislike?
The hypocrites. The ones who don't walk the talk.

Who do you wish would drop off the face of the earth?
Not really anybody. I"m fairly easygoing in real life. Sure, I'll debate you tooth and nail, but I calm down and I never hold grudges about debates, so really nobody.

Also, have you heard any good gossip, lately? Anything really juicy?
Not really. I tend to be fairly reclusive and I don't really pay attention to what's going on around me. Gossip doesn't really interst me. I would rather talk about religion or politics than gossip. The only problem is finding people like that, since most people never really seem to outgrow junior high school. :(

Oh. Oops. :biglaugh: I certainly did phrase that one poorly! I want to marry a man and then have a couple of kids. :D I'd also like to adopt them, rather than give birth to them. I fell more called towards giving a home to the kids who don't have one already, than just creating even more humans.

Am I one of the good ones or the bad ones?

That is quite respectable. I'm much the same way, unfortunately, most people don't care to discuss politics or anything that is deeper than "Oh my gawd! Did you see the jeans that girl was wearing?" People... Sometimes I don't know how I feel about people...

Ah, that is quite respectable as well. At last, someone who cares about kids that need to be adopted more than creating their own! :woohoo:
