"Worse than a dog" because that is an assessment one makes when one analyzes his/her own self. In fact I believe all should have the same assessment about themselves.

"Honestly" because some make that assessment without genuine reason. Their humility is based on dishonest self-deprecation. i.e. it is fake. I believe credit should be accepted where due but an honest assessment should still lead to the conclusion that one is worse than a dog.

Is that clear enough or a longer answer?

I believe it is typical Muslim sentiment.

It reminds me of a verse in the Quran:
And do not dispute with the followers of the Book except by what is best, except those of them who act unjustly, and say: We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and our God and your God is One, and to Him do we submit.-Quran 29:46

I belong to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who was founded by the Promised Messiah Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian (on him be peace).

His fifth successor, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad leads the community and is my "murshide-kamil" so to speak. My Khalifa.

hi,

Have a quick question, I am always confused that Ahmadis insist on the Prophethood of Mirza Ghulam, as Imam Mahdi and Jesus (pbuh)(two personalities in one), But he clearly did not possess any characteristic of these personalities, neither do his descendants. ?

Feel free to contact him yourself. https://eletter.alislam.org/
Many correspond with him on a regular basis and he (tries to personally) responds to all who write.

Aren't Ahmadiyyas officially non-Muslims in Pakistan?
Yes. It is part and parcel of the constitution of Pakistan.

A great victory for us to be honest.

Good debate points you raise. Alas, debates aren't allowed here.
But in short while you have stated our claim correctly you are incorrect in the claim that he did not possess the required characteristics.

We believe Islam to be the champion of religions and no religion even comes close.
in what way might Islam be the champion of religions? how specifically might it exceed other religions? for example, hinduism, buddhism, judaism, christianity?

Finally we categorically reject all forms of terrorism and believe physical fighting for the cause of Islam is not applicable in this day and age.
might this not possibly contradict and/or render obsolete certain portions of the koran which otherwise advocate fighting? are portions of the koran then outdated and/or not literally applicable for today?

Well lets take one example. Islam is a religion that believes in a God Who still answers the call to prayer and who speaks and who still shows His extraordinary signs to show people that "I exist". Islam does not require us to depend on old stories for our beliefs but motivates us to act based on God's miracles within our lives. i.e. extraordinary events that could not have been staged by human beings.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is, as a community, witness to this and countless examples may be pointed in this regard.

No. Because those portions of the Quran came with conditions. And those conditions are not applicable in this day and age.
Permission to take up arms is hereby given to those who are attacked because they have been oppressed – Allah indeed has power to grant them victory – those who have been unjustly driven from their homes, only because they said: ‘Our Lord is Allah’. (22:39-40)
The conditions being:
1. Oppressed
2. To the point of being driven out of their homes
3. Only because they believe in Allah
In none of the wars fought by Muslims in this age are these three conditions met. Even if they may be right to fight those wars Muslims/Terrorists have no right to attach Islam to the issue. In fact they use Islam for political gain and thereby lose Allah's support.

what religious text(s) do you adhere to, if any? is there some religious text which you believe to be infallibly inspired? if so, which one(s)?

(PS. i personally don't believe that any relgious text within any religion is infallible, but that's just where i'm at with that. nothing against anyone else who may believe otherwise.)

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is, as a community, witness to this and countless examples may be pointed in this regard.
i'm glad that you are a member of a community that is good for you.

No. Because those portions of the Quran came with conditions. And those conditions are not applicable in this day and age.

it would indeed be sad if these conditions were ever met. i hope that it never happens to anyone.

Even if they may be right to fight those wars Muslims/Terrorists have no right to attach Islam to the issue. In fact they use Islam for political gain and thereby lose Allah's support.
would there ever be a valid basis for Allah to fight/promote wars, either now or in the future that applies for today?

thank you for responding to my posts and helping me to learn.

The Quran is infallibly inspired.
Glad I could help!
from what i've read of the Quran, it doesn't much chronicle histories of events like the bible does, for example. it doesn't really contain 'old stories', as you accurately reference. it seems to be more of a guidebook perhaps, discussing directives and morals in a context of prayers/praises.

thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Yeah it was in the news.

ahmadiyyatimes.blogspot.com is an unofficial news collection site that updates daily news of interest to Ahmadis. There were several news pieces in the media on this issue.

True that Indian authorities have not been completely innocent but compared to Pakistan India has given very fair treatment to Ahmadis. Other countries such as Indonesia, Bangladesh, and several Middle Eastern countries continue to get more against us. The trend is not a positive one.

Apparently at least. Because in the history of religion such trends are common place. Krishna's teachings were full of peace yet his enemies portrayed him in the worst light. Jesus' case was so strange where his teaching of forgiveness was met with such hatred by the Jews. So the united efforts against true Prophets of God are the norm in religion. And they serve a purpose. They show God's Divine succor. For when the Prophet is finally victorious and continous to progress despite the governments of the world fighting against him then his victory becomes evidence of Divine succor.

"In the world we live in it is might that is right. But in religious history it is always right that comes out to be might." (gist)
