Philosophical speaking the default position is a question that has little merit since it is solely based on inference of words and data far removed from the subject in case.

But neither is the ignorant state of the past. What that suggests is that time and the accumulation of information it entails is the measure of a default in this case, and there's been no explanation so far of why that should be.

Nope, it is pointing how the issues with attempting to find a default position based on zero information from those closest to the default state. Hence why there are issues with claims of "default" position as it completely relies on inference from those that can communicate, which are outside the default time reference, with us and proof by logic since it relies solely on axioms which anyone can reject. A synthetic statement cannot be proven by an analytic. Hume defeated such ideas centuries ago. Proof by logic only works in math.
