Atheist Looking for discussion

Hello everyone. Ill start off by saying a few things about my self, I’m 19, studying to become an engineer at the U of A and after going through my hole life believing God, and redemption only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, have left the faith and become a full fledged atheist. To my disappointment none of my really religious friends want to really discuss beyond telling me that I need to just “let go” and believe in Jesus. One went as far as to tell me I’m and idiot. So I’ve come here (and I have never gone to a internet forum of any kind) in the hopes that I can find some good enlightening conversation on the subject.
So to start off I would ask anyone that disagrees with me that there is no God, to explain why they believe there is.

I too do not belive in a god of any form. I believe we all have a connection to the earth and those that inhabit the earth. But the thought of a "devine being" watching the horrors that go on within the human people is silly to me.

hey I am a new member as well. and I was actually wondering how you get those little pictures up next to your name?

Nothing grieves me more then when people turn from the faith. I hope you don't think I am judging you, I to have had at times doubts about my faith. And I know that it is only through the grace of God that I am a Christian at all. I would like to know what made you change your mind about your faith?
