Atheistic Double Standard?

It Aint Necessarily So

I will insult anyone I choose to insult, and I will do it anytime I choose to do it.

Obviously.

And your threshold for so doing appears to be very low.

How many tails does an ape lack? They lack no tails because they never required tails, and no tails are expected of them.

Are you still arguing this point? It is completely played out. Your definition of "lack" only includes a deficiency with a need. Mine, which is general usage, can refer to either a need or an absence without a need.

But surely you lack God.

Agreed, and have for decades. I have no need for that belief.

To lack does require a deficiency.

But believing it is true does not make it true.

Are you okay with believing something that is not true?
It is true that believing something is true does not make it true.
I am okay with believing in something that is not true, so long as I have not been convinced that what I believe in is not true.

I don't lie to anyone...not even myself. To lie requires intent. I assure you, if my beliefs are wrong, I don't know it, and so far, no person has been capable of proving me wrong for holding the beliefs that I have.

Of course atheists use it according to the first sense, as it is absolutely necessary to be perceived as reasonable.
Theists use it in the first sense, too, if you look at how they actually use the word rather than how they say they use it.
