PS: Any supposed atheistic explanation of the origin of the universe is just philosophy. Who told philosophers that they are scientists?
Are you aware that philosophers were around before the scientific method was ever conceived of? Scientists came along and said, "Lol. We can prove things about nature at a level of precision that you thinky-*** philosophers could never dream of!"
And the philosophers were like: "Yeah. You got us there."
"We'll pretty much let you guys handle figuring things out about nature," they continued, "From now on we'll just stick to the fundamental questions like we always have. You guys did a better job understanding nature than we did. But we gave it a shot! And we were the only ones trying until you guys came along."
No philosopher worth her SALT thinks that philosophizing about the natural world will do a better job than the scientific method can. It would take some EXTREME form of arrogance and/or hubris to think that we could sit in our arm chair and declare meticulously-done, well-tested science is false. You know what I mean, Eli G?
Do you even know what philosophy is, Eli G? It's pretty typical for people to be largely ignorant of science and philosophy. And that's okay. Because usually those folks will just admit: I don't care about those two fields. There's plenty of science that I'm ignorant of.
The only time it's a problem is when you introduce the unholy trinity of:
1) The person doesn't care about the two fields.
2) The person is ignorant of the two fields.
and yet
3) The person considers themselves an expert on both fields.
Ice Cube once wrote a song called "Check Yo Self." Great song. Keep your eyes on the road, man!
