That is not the meaning that Senedjem is using, however.
What he is referring to and what he thinks he is referring to are not necessarily the same thing, and that's, I'd wager, the entire problem of the thread.

Scientific energy is the ability to do work. It's a scalar quantity. Senedjem referred to scientific energy.

Energy does not fall under magical thinking because it's a measurable concept, and is directly used to perform useful things.

He's adding a poetic rhetoric to it, and then mixing the two. The concept that energy is some life force or equivalent with god is magical thinking, but atheists aren't the ones involved in that.
