I think you've come to the wrong forum if you're after atheists. I don't think I have ever, ever encountered an atheist on these forums, ever.

Nah, I don't think so. Every poster I have ever seen in these forums seems to be named Revolti-something...I sure you have encountered me at some time in the last few years.

This sounds good in theory, I've just never heard of any "atheists" proselytizing or preaching from rooftops.OK.... Could you expand on that?
It seems to me that atheists often do more thinking than theists, who are handed belief systems on silver platters, so have no need to think about things. In fact, their religions often discourage them from questioning the narrative.
What is your evidence to support your claim that "we cannot know..." ?I'm old enough not to be that interested in debating about my beliefs or lack of them. I didn't have any particular 'education' as to religious belief (for which I thank my parents) apart from what was imparted during schooling and that was easily ignored given that it was about as boring as much else at school. I had suspicions as to religions not being what they presented themselves to be when I discovered there were so many different beliefs - probably during my last year of primary school. During my teenage years I had more of an interest in philosophy and psychology, along with science, and basically became an atheist from such times. I have ended up as an agnostic atheist, given that I believe we cannot know if there was and is some creative force (or whatever) behind the existence of the universe.
I believe such for myself, given that science hasn't yet provided sufficient evidence so as to fully understand the universe, although it just might. But I very much doubt I will be around to witness this. Am I supposed to believe the evidence from those who might have an agenda as to certain beliefs? What is your evidence to support your claim that "we cannot know..." ?

Are you saying your mind is beyond Plato & Socrates?I don't particularly have one, I don't consider philosophy to be enough to base my understanding of the world on. However, for my own part i think the people i know we are all different.

"I don't consider philosophy to be enough to base my understanding of the world on."Nope why do you make such a silly assumption?
Maybe re-reading my post may help.
"I don't consider philosophy to be enough to base my understanding of the world on."
Okay, the thing is, for me at least, thoughts and reality seem to be "intertwined" in some cases.Right, let me explain. I think philosophy is thinking about things, right or wrong depends on who is doing the thinking. I more an evidence based person, i.e. reality rather than thought
I predict fiddling on the rooftop. What's to preach?
There is no god?
Ok done, what's next?
Okay, the thing is, for me at least, thoughts and reality seem to be "intertwined" in some cases.
e.g. I can think about creating something then, after I get done with my project, my previous thoughts have become a reality.
I don't understand. Please elaborate & clarify?Only for the creative, there is a lot more reality in this universe that didn't need thought
Atheists seem to just give up, before they even start thinking. This must prevent them from burning up calories from mental gymnastics!
We're all Christian fundamentalists here.I think you've come to the wrong forum if you're after atheists. I don't think I have ever, ever encountered an atheist on these forums, ever.
