I completely agree.I propose that if an individual triggers certain warning
signs, eg, being subject to restraining orders, starting
fights, then the individual should be evaluated for
suitability for gun ownership.
Some people, including some cops & politicians will
bristle at loss of rights, but this is practical, & offers
some efficacy.
In fact, I have already flat out stated that the second Gregory Ulrich was determined to mentally incompetent to be charged, he should have been put on the "can not buy firearms" list.
It is my opinion that anyone who is not mentally competent enough to be charged with violating a restraining order has absolutely no business being any where near a fire arm.
