For several years now I've been stuck in the low-paying, high turnover Human Services field. I'm tired of it as I'm really not a "people person". Unfortunately, I'm just too good at it especially when working with the developmentally delayed population.
The good thing is I'll never be without a job for long but the bad news is I just can't seem to move up in or out of the field. I'd really appreciate suggestions on how to break this cycle.
I don't know what I'd really like to do as the only other experience I have is in the hospitality sector and my lack of experience is keeping me from getting into other fields. I don't have time to volunteer (due to the low paying jobs I need two) so I don't know what to do.
I do have a 4-year degree (sociology) and being the first, and so far the only member of my family that has one it's kind of important for me to feel like I went to school for a reason so I'm really hoping to receive suggestions from anyone that has some.
Thanks
