Automating the fight against creationism

We need to get one of these here, then we can just sit back and watch the creationists bang their heads against a wall.

If the link is tl;dr, it's a bot that skims Twitter for posts denying Global Warming, then scans the post for specific points and posts detailed scientific responses. It's database could easily be updated to fight creationism and put us all out of business. :)

Seems kind of lazy.

How do you know there isn't a anti-atheist bot already in use?

There's little if any issue still to be discussed because the courts have been declaring creationism to be religion and therefore prohibited in school science courses!

They mean almost the same thing. They might as well be.
I am sorry, but you only display your own ignorance. Evolution has no more connection to atheism than the theory of gravity does. The theory of evolution is a scientific theory. No scientific theory deals with the question of the existence of “God” one way or the other. The existence of “God” is perfectly compatible with the theory of evolution, just as the existence of “God” is perfectly compatible with the heliocentric theory, or germ theory, or the theory of relativity etc.

If you believe that evolution and atheism mean almost the same thing then either you don’t understand evolution, or you don’t understand atheism, or possibly both.

Silly atheist, we theists don't believe in gravity! :D

So you're saying atheists aren't necessarily evolutionists? Okay, maybe not. But has an atheist ever renounced the theory of evolution? Is there an one atheist on the planet who scoffs at fossil-records and carbon-dating and radiometry? Is there one atheist on the planet who hasn't read The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin? IMO you would be remiss in your atheism if you didn't read Darwin.

And yet atheists are fascinated with God. They are fascinated by anything that "disproves" His existence.

There absolutely are atheists who reject the theory of evolution. I grant you that they are few, but that is not the point. You would be hard pressed to find an atheist who disagrees with the heliocentric theory of the solar system, does that mean that the idea that the earth revolves around the sun is the same as the idea that there is no “God”? Of course not.

But although you will find that very few atheists reject the theory of evolution, you will find that a significant percentage of theists accept the theory of evolution. If evolution is almost the same as atheism how to you explain that almost half of Christians in the U.S. accept the theory of evolution? (source)

Why would we read Origin? It's not a very current text on Evolution, many of Darwin's ideas are outdated.

And for the record i was an atheist for several years before i believed in Evolutionary Theory. Growing up all i knew about it was my mother saying "if man came from monkeys then why are there still monkeys?" So from the age of 12 to about 17 i was an atheist who didn't believe in evolution.

The only requirement for atheism is not believing in a god or gods, everything else including evolution is up to the individual. Most rational skeptical atheists you happen to run in to, will accept the theory of evolution because it's a demonstrable fact, but it's not a requirement for atheism.

There's no requirements, no prerequisites, and no final exam. ;)

I haven't read the Origin of Species. I don't scoff at evolution because I have only a high school level education, so I'm not qualified enough to scoff.
