And on the other side of the coin, many of its members are just muslims, not radical, that joined the movement.
In Africa normal muslims have joined for 50 bucks and a cell phone.

That is because they are not just a religious group. It is a religious group using political means to promote it religious foundation.
How much different is it then muhammad fighting and using religion and politics together?
