I'm new to this web site, so I need some advice about how to encourage discussion of a radical idea I have. Very briefly, the idea is that, for religious skeptics, free will — not God — is the most promising starting point for a spiritual journey. I'd like to put this idea out there for comments and questions to help me decide if the idea is just goofy, or possibly revolutionary. What's the most effective way to do that here? In a chat room? In a discussion forum? Just one place, or multiple postings? Do those of you more familiar with the structure of this site have any suggestions about specific chats or forums where there might be greater interest is discussing unorthodox ideas?

For the widest exposure and opportunity to get varied ideas, I'd start a thread in General Religious Debates.

Sounds interesting! I've been kicking around the idea that free will is the manifestation of God in our lives.

I'd advise that you just hang out for a while and get a feel for the place. Then you can decide what the best tactic for promoting your ideas is.
