being an internet crazy person?

Dear Journal,

Today I have been contemplating:

What are the pros and cons of being an internet crazy person?

Does anyone reading this have any ideas?

I don't really want to become one, I want to be taken seriously

But if people knew enough about me they may write me off

I have been thinking about this as my YouTube channel now has five videos on it although it is yet to get significant traffic - but it's still early days!

My problem is that since 2004 I have had some kind of spirit guide, which I don't really understand and this has lead to me being diagnosed as mentally ill

I used to think it was some kind of higher being - a simulation or the holy spirit or something like that.....

But I now know that it is local to me, I liken it to a parrot on my shoulder rather than a higher being

Apart from all that I would say that I am a fairly sensible person

I want to talk about stuff from my perspective without being considered crazy and am not sure whether or not this is possible :(

Considering what passes for "normal" (or more specifically, "acceptable as normal") these days, I don't know that it is worth avoiding being perceived as "crazy" anymore.

But pragmatically, I suppose that we should strive for having reputations that we enjoy. Reputations for trustworthiness, reliability, honesty, usefulness.

That has little to do with the Internet as such, and a lot to do with in which ways we use it - what we value and express, how insistently, how wisely, and with which degree of open mind.

Knowing when, what and who to let go is at least as important as knowing what to pursue.

More recently I learned to value learning how to displease as well. There are times when it is better to repudiate and even to be disliked outright than to pursue the alternatives.

Going to be sensible here... (Yes, i know, a rarity but thats how it goes sometimes)
As a person who cares for a crazy person (technical term) believe me when i say, if you hadn't told me you had a mental illness i wouldn't have known. Sure, in your stimulation days they were a bit odd, bit that's behind you now, your posts are pretty good and interesting, i enjoy them, nothing crazy about that.

I think its worth noting there's different types of crazy, and different levels of it, too.

What makes you think your crazy?
Basically: Since 2004 I have had a being communicating with me and this has changed my world view and sense of self. Because of this I have been diagnosed as mentally ill

But I don't think I am, I think it is a kind of Spirit Guide, for want of a better term

Which raises the question: what am I??????

Obviously the shortest answer is that I have a mental illness

But the shortest answer is not necessarily the best one and I am convinced I have some kind of Spirit Guide

I've been through some big, mad, crazy things that anyone would find traumatic, puzzling and awe inspiring

Welcome to the forums BTW :)

I've only seen a very minor spectrum of mental illness. I don't think your necessarily crazy Eddi, but rather living in crazy times. The current world is filled with a lot of tension, and anguish. I see you've been curious, and scholarly by learning about the different forms of Christianity which I assume is not in doubt of the religion, but rather wanting to seek a deeper understanding. Regarding your spirit guide, I can never understand what you may see, or hear but I don't believe visions of traumatic things occurring in a world filled with human beings being subjected to trauma. I see you might also be a Veteran which could also play a part in any trauma. Even if you never saw combat, you are taken away from being a human being, they take away yourself as a individual. I hope your able to find peace, and forgive.

Why do you think I'm a veteran????

I've never been in the military and have never at any point in my life even come close to considering signing up
