You'd have to survey each individual Christian to get a definitive answer. I'd say that yes, the majority of Christians do believe that Jesus will come back, but that answer is based on the limited sample of the Christians I know. There could be lots of Christians I don't know who don't believe Jesus will come back (which may or may not include "silly bishops",) and the ones I know may in fact be the miniorty. That said, just because a belief if held by the majority doesn't mean that what that majority believes is actually correct. This principle is shown in Mark 8, when the disciples (of whom there were 12,) all believed one thing, and Jesus (1) told them they were wrong.

In a nutshell, the theory is that Jesus will come back to earth. The views people have on exactly how, when, and what will happen when He does are heavily debated, largely because these views are based heavily on prophecies which are interpreted in a variety of ways. Read and try to interpret the books of Daniel and Revelation to get an idea of why is such a heavily debated topic.

His Bride. Well, that's one of the things I believe, but there are other reasons as well.

I think most Christians believe Jesus will return, but not in our lifetime. It kind of connects to whether or not they believe the Bible is divinely inspired by God, if they consider it a collection of man made writings than maybe they don't think Jesus will return.

The only Christians who dont believe Christ will return physically are full preterists.

They say all prophecy in the NT has been fulfilled and have to jump through absurd hoops when trying to explain away clear prophecy of Christs return.

(Matthew 24:30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Ermmm...the Church is the clouds and this is describing Jesus (the Word) coming (being evangelized) in the clouds (us)...?....?....?

I dont think so.

Literal perousa for me.
