What was it? If you are worried about spoiling it for someone - you can say the title than put the twist in the spoilers.

Shutter Island had my favorite plot twist

Pretty sure everyone saw Shutter Island sorry if you didn't:

Plot twist was that while I expected at the end to find out the doctors and such were actually trying to make him seem crazy and have to be entrapped on the island for the rest of his life, I actually find out that he really IS crazy and he is the 67th patient! It just was unexpected my first time watching, but it all added up for me.

Another one of my favorites is in "Now You See Me"

There was the FBI and police force chasing the magicians because they robbed banks and stole money from people, but it turns out the main guy who was in the police force who we thought were hunting them down is actually the person helping them do their tricks, he is the "Eye of Horus" thing.

I remember the end of Ender's Game having a big impact on me the first time I read it when I was young. Also, many of the old Twilight Zone episodes.

The assassinations in last night's episode of Game of Thrones. I did not see that coming.

In the 6th Sense, Bruce Willis's character discovers he's dead.
Bummer!

I liked the director of it though, he had a hard-to-remember name but made some good movies - Seven and After Earth for example.

After Earth spoiler - The main character is Will Smith's son :O

Please consider using the spoiler tags to contain any plot twists so that it would serve as a warning for others before reading.

Thanks everyone.

Itachi's backstory in Naruto was the most surprising and tragic plot twist I've read/watched.
Itachi murdered his Uchiha clan and left his six-year-old brother Sasuke alive, telling Sasuke to indulge in his hatred and eventually avenge him. Much of the series is spent with traumatized, moping Sasuke becoming a stronger ninja with the goal to find and kill his brother. He eventually succeeds. Afterwards, he finds out that tensions between the Uchiha clan and the village Kohana were high before the slaughter and war was likely to break out, which Itachi didn't want to happen as a war survivor. The village officials eventually ordered Itachi to slaughter his clan. Itachi left Sasuke alive, as the person he loved most, and intended for Sasuke's reputation to be redeemed as an Uchiha in the eyes of Kohana after killing off Itachi.

And this. Though I knew it from the beginning. :D

In the 6th Sense, Bruce Willis's character discovers he's dead.
Bummer!
