If you want to find a middle path between Christianity and Satanism, study the two extensively, and find it yourself. Then share your findings with others.

That's debateable. :)

Anyway, many Luciferians see Christ as a Lucifer (bringer of wisdom), in opposition to the tyrannical Christian God.

... Annnnnnd that's about the extent of my knowledge.

Buddhism???

Not really. Buddhism does have a few things in common with Christianity, but is agnostic when it comes to God-concepts, unlike Satanism, which is atheistic. (At least LeVayan Satanism is.) It also has very little in common with Satanism, which is a religion all about the pursuit of sensual gratification.

Really, Riverwolf... what is Christianity, what is Satanism, and why are all there people studying biology out of a book when they could just go outside and see the flowers?

Who are these people anyway? :D

I agree with RiverWolf. For you to really find that answer I would say you absolutely must study it yourself. The subjects are EXTREMELY dense. It will take you years of reading to meerly scratch the surface... but it is SO worth it. The subject matter gets more interesting the further you get into it. If you are persistent you will be captivated and eventually find your answer.

My suggestions to you would be to start with these subjects:

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Catholic Church for starters with christianity. Both are free standing independant christian organizations. The Catholic Church is the root of chritianity, all the others (Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, etc.) are reformed versions of the Catholic church. If you are studying for academic purposes... that would just be my starting point. The Catholic Church has very heavy litergy as well, and elaborate ceremonies that are strikingly similar to what you will find in ceremonial magic. In the early days of the church they did have magical elements in thier ritual, such as excorsism as well.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is what I like to call an oasis in the desert of christianity. Their teachings are very deep, thoughtful, and evolved in comparison to many others. They are also independant, and not a break off from the Catholic Church. Their missionaries are very patient, intellegent, and not pushy at all. They are a joy to be around and would be more than happy to come over and teach you about the church without any pressure. (Just tell them it is for academic purposes and you have no intention of joining at this time, up front so they won't be dissapointed).

Right Hand Path Occultism, Enochian Magic, Kabbalistic Magic, Hoo Doo, and general ceremonial magic deals with judaistic and christian elements in a pagan setting. It can work with both angels and demons. I even read once about a ritual where the magician assumes the position of Jesus on the cross to invoke the power of the atonement. That is some crazy stuff.

These are just my suggestions for a starting point. Don't limit yourself. Join lots of forums. Talk to lots of people. Read everything that looks like a good suggestion. Believe nothing until you prove it to yourself. :)

Absorb everything you can, sort through the BS, and many years later you will find what is right for you and be content.

I am having a blast learning about all the wild things out there in the spiritual world.

There is no formal religion that I can think of that 'sits between' Christianity and Satanism.

Though, I can think of one way that one could accomodate both (potentially).

Think of the Christ as sort of a yang principle, and the Adversary as the yin principle. I would think they'd both be brothers of sorts, or possibly two facets of the same being.

It kind of ends up Tao-like and pagan-like in my head, but it's hard to put into words.

:p

Honestly, I think the Church of the Flying Speghetti Monster is as close to "middle ground" as you'll get between those two religions. Most Christians and Satanists I've ever met tend to be very black-and-white thinkers.
