hmmmm ....no

religion shouldn't be taught just be be culturally savvy

the stories inherently display workings of Spirit
of God.....of Man

and the dogma is not intended to be culture
it is aimed as belief

parables ....on the other hand
are generic in noun and pronoun
and make display of mind and heart

all men could benefit.....without the religious labels of belief
The intention of religion is neither here nor there in this context, since the object is not to teach people to be believers.

European literature, art, music and architecture are full of references to Christianity and the bible. Some knowledge of the ideas and the principal figures from the Judaeo-Christian tradition is a great help in understanding the culture.

I've met them throughout my life. Not always in all places. It does seem that a certain amount of intellgence is required. I am more likely to find such people on college campuses, for example.

Well, I'm certain that no one taught me the meaning of 'objective' or 'subjective.' In k-12. for that, I had to go forums. So philosophy needs to be taught first, before you teach religion

I wouldn't mind except that all the Christian teachers would use it to evangelize.
It would be like teaching a course in explosives at a school where a good chunk of the teachers are pyromaniacs: yes, explosives are interesting and there are plenty of legitimate ways that they're used, but there are lots of risks without much compelling benefit to balance against those risks.
