Sex is a rite of marriage...
Biblically speaking, sex isn't a "prerequisite" for marriage. Marriage is a "prerequisite" for sex.
Biblically speaking as to your own self-interpretation of it but I read that a man can have sex with as many women as he wants without being married or by being married to other women other than the one he may be having sex with at that point in time.
Gen 38:14 She took off of her the garments of her widowhood, and covered herself with her veil, and wrapped herself, and sat in the gate of `Enayim, which is by the way to Timnah; for she saw that Shelach was grown up, and she wasn't given to him as a wife.
Gen 38:15 When Yahdah saw her, he thought that she was a prostitute, for she had covered her face.
Gen 38:16 He turned to her by the way, and said, "Please come, let me come in to you," for he didn't know that she was his daughter-in-law. She said, "What will you give me, that you may come in to me?"
Gen 38:17 He said, "I will send you a kid of the goats from the flock." She said, "Will you give me a pledge, until you send it?"
Gen 38:18 He said, "What pledge will I give you?" She said, "Your signet and your cord, and your staff that is in your hand." He gave them to her, and came in to her, and she conceived by him.
Gen 38:19 She arose, and went away, and put off her veil from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.
Gen 38:20 Yahdah sent the kid of the goats by the hand of his friend, the `Adullami, to receive the pledge from the woman's hand, but he didn't find her.
Gen 38:21 Then he asked the men of her place, saying, "Where is the prostitute, that was at `Enayim by the road?" They said, "There has been no prostitute here."
Gen 38:22 He returned to Yahdah, and said, "I haven't found her; and also the men of the place said, 'There has been no prostitute here.'"
Gen 38:23 Yahdah said, "Let her keep it, lest we be shamed. Behold, I sent this kid, and you haven't found her."
Gen 38:24 It happened about three months later, that it was told Yahdah, saying, "Tamar, your daughter-in-law, has played the prostitute; and moreover, behold, she is with child by prostitution." Yahdah said, "Bring her forth, and let her be burnt."
Gen 38:25 When she was brought forth, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, "By the man, whose these are, I am with child." She also said, "Please discern whose are these--the signet, and the cords, and the staff."
Gen 38:26 Yahdah acknowledged them, and said, "She is more righteous than I, because I didn't give her to Shelach, my son." He knew her again no more.
Yahdah was married to other women and still went to what he thought to be a prostitute for the purpose of sex without marrying her. It is not mentioned nor recorded that he had committed any wrong here except that he didnt keep his promise to his daughter in law as to his youngest son.

Deu 22:28 "If a man comes upon a girl who is a virgin but who is not engaged, and he grabs her and has sexual relations with her, and they are caught in the act,
Deu 22:29 then the man who had intercourse with her must give to the girl's father one-and-a-quarter pounds of silver shekels, and she will become his wife, because he humiliated her; he may not divorce her as long as he lives.
Only if they are caught in the act does this man have to do certain things including marriage and not only that we see that the man had sex with this girl before marriage. Again nothing written that states that there has been any sin committed here.

Biblically speaking, sex is a rite of marriage.
Biblically speaking, I agree that it is a rite as well as a right. Sex as a rite is used to consummate the marriage and it is also the right of each, the male and the female, to be given the duty of marriage.

1Co 7:5 Do not deprive each other, except for a limited time, by mutual agreement, and then only so as to have extra time for prayer; but afterwards, come together again. Otherwise, because of your lack of self-control, you may succumb to the Adversary's temptation.
