Part of the answer would hinge on who they pick as their Vice-President. That should be a practical consideration for this election, even if it might seem macabre to do so.

If Biden wins, Kamala Harris could become President.

If Trump wins, Marjorie Taylor Greene could become President.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

There should be a mud wrestling contest to see who wins.

Biden winning.
Trump.....
- Likely to attack Iran.
- Would increase friction between USA & Muslim countries.
- Would abandon Ukraine to Putin.
- Would gut the 1st Amendment by persecuting & prosecuting political rivals.
- Would possibly refuse to leave office if he loses re-election in 2028.
- Would screw up economic liberty by giving government more control over individual company decisions.

Biden....
- More averse to war than Trump.
(He pulled out of Afghanistan, unlike Trump.)
- Better for the economy because he appears to be
less regulation happy than Trump. Although Biden
is still a socialist vector.
- Weak on civil rights, much as Trump is.
- Better haircut, & not a Pillsbury Doughboy.
- His mental decline seems no worse than Trump's.

We will all have to stand to more of the crazy politics given by the Republican Party and its supporters for four more years.

Who knows. Further weaking of the values, discernment and institutions of the USA, definitely. Some measure of emboldening of autocrats worldwide, since the USA will be correctly perceived as crippled and unwilling to fulfill its usual international duties. A degree of self-reliance efforts in NATO and the EU. Further degeneration of the SCOTUS and of the Republican Party.

But probably more. Perhaps far more.

Mostly nothing. More of the same ... the billionaires driving everyone else into poverty with their insane power and greed. And it'll be that way no matter who the VP is, or if Biden dies in office.

He will tear government as we know it apart. Destroy the DOJ, destroy the democratic process, declare himself dictator, until the military has to finally step in and rid us of him. Then what? A military dictatorship?

I really don't want to think about it. I feel sad for the younger folks. I'll be dead in a decade or so. They're going to have to try and fix this mess.

Yes, I fear for the America my grandchildren will live in, especially since they are in Florida. I most likely have more than decade left--I'm 69 and my parents are 94 and 100 (but yikes I never want to be that old!). I'm also eligible for citizenship in another country and almost have all the paperwork together to send in.

I plan to live to age 100, just long enough to see Zefram Cochrane invent warp drive. ;)
