Caught on video: Father with family in SUV chased, beaten by speed-demon bikers - U.S. News

By Tracy Connor, NBC News
"New York City police continue to hunt for as many as 30 motorcyclists who forced a driver on a harrowing high-speed chase through Upper Manhattan and then beat him in front of his wife and 2-year-old daughter.
The six-minute pursuit on Sunday — which was captured on video and posted on YouTube — began when the driver of a black Range Rover called 911 to report erratic bikers taking part in an unauthorized rally dubbed Hollywood Stuntz, police told NBC New York.

New York police commissioner Ray Kelly says the department is investigating whether a motorcycle group attacked an SUV driver who broke the leg of a cyclist.
The video shows the motorcycles converged on the 33-year-old man's vehicle on the West Side Highway in Harlem, and he apparently clipped a bike that cut closely in front of him.

The motorcycle rider suffered a broken leg, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. Some of the other bikers then surrounded the SUV.
"They take their helmets and start to dent his car, and apparently his tires are slashed there with a knife," Kelly said.
The video, shot with a helmet-mounted camera, shows the driver then took off, knocking down more bikes as others tore up the highway after him.
During a 50-block chase, the bikers managed to trap the Range Rover again, and one of them got off and pulled open the driver's side door before the motorist swerved and sped away.
After his tires finally went flat on a side street, the group blocked him in again. One biker was seen yanking off his helmet and using it to smash in the SUV window.
Police said the man suffered black eyes and other injuries in the subsequent beating. After receiving some stitches, he was released from Columbia University Medical Center.
No arrests have been made, but police are examining surveillance video from a nearby gas station where some of the motorcyclists stopped.
Kelly said the bikers did not have a permit for the rally and the NYPD only learned of the show-boating event — in its second year — through social media.
He said police had fanned out around Manhattan to watch for trouble, arresting 15 bikers and confiscating 55 motorcycles unrelated to the attack on the Range Rover."

Another story to give the bosozoku a bad name.

I've seen an increasing number of videos which show groups of bikers acting like complete degenerates. I wonder if there's a correlation between the type of people who buy motorcycles and reduced frontal lobe activity.

The bikers' antics are very dangerous. They were lucky the car's driver didn't behave aggressively.
If those fellas had come after me, there'd be a whole lotta bodies & bikes lying in me wake.

Not casting any stones - I'm an impulsive degenerate myself.

That I'm not. Perhaps in the past. But you can have that label. I wrote a book about bikes, but I'm not exactly proud of it. You can still buy it here and there, but I chucked the few remaining copies of the 1000 I had printed. some guys are trying now to get like 70 bucks for it. But the author is unavailable for comment.

Same as I thought.

I'd have no problem running over a bunch of thugs trying to harm me or my family.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I see the banning of bikes. Degenerates and low lifes however may remain in the city once they are released likely in a week or two knowing ny.

Glad the family wasn't killed, but I sometimes wonder if there is more to the story. Road rage is fairly common now.

Bikes aren't the problem. In fact, they pose less of a danger than
thugs driving cars or trucks. Bike riders are quite vulnerable.

Loved the idiot on the back of one of the bikes trying to film the chase on his iPad - LOL! xD

What a great potential advert for Range Rover, did you see how effortlessly the Rover rolled over that biker?

Personally, I would have liked to see how it handled backing over motorcycles, as well.

I can see the advertisements right now on a TV ad.

"Range Rover! Run over bikers like a man".
