I know, right! The same stats can be used for cops:

There are around 800,000 sworn LEOs in the USA.
Cops killed around 1,000 people in 2016 for whatever reasons.

That means that 0.00125% of cops killed someone in 2016. Oh the outrage! 1 out of every 800 cops nationwide killed someone. Let's paint them all as racist murderers!

When you look at it like that, it's not exactly the epidemic that the media has been making it out to be.

Just for fun, in the spirit of factually correct yet highly sophistic statistics:

On 19th May 2016, US police shot more unarmed black women to death than the total number of people shot and killed by British and Japanese police combined in 2013.

American police shot nearly 3 times more bullets at the back of a single unarmed black suspect than were fired by the entire Finnish police force in all of 2013.
