Blood Magic

Not trying to knock anyone, but I hope ya'll are being careful when doing stuff like that what with all the diseases out there. I'm only saying it because I care. :)
The blood magick I have planned for this fall will be performed using a brand new razor blade. Despite the fact that it will be new, I will be using heat to sterilize it. The biggest issue will be where to cut as to not bleed out. ;)

As long as everyone is careful. That's all I care about. This whole subject is very strange to me and I think it's a little weird but I DO NOT judge others based on their religion or how they practice their religion.

Don't worry. My upcoming ritual does not involve anyone drinking my life juice. ;) It will be used in a very different manner.

^_^ Most of the time Blood in Blood Magick is not drank by anyone. It is used to empower a spell, or an object. Like if one where to write a 'Sigil', they can bind it with blood...or...if you want to go a steep further one can just write it in blood or blood mix with ink

Precisely Azakel, that is how I sometimes Magically charge my sigils. And it is only on a specially occasion that I would put a drop or two of my own blood in my ceremonial wine during my Grail workings.

One of the more popular ideas is that blood is energy rich, and shedding blood releases that energy quickly and strongly.

It's something you have to be careful with though, since energy for magical purposes is better controlled and used within the body. Kind of like rationing too much water and food in a survival situation: the food is useless until it is inside you.

Using blood does certainly add a measure of sacrificial personality to a ritual. Other bodily fluids can work well, too, as long as the symbolism is right in the practitioner's mind.

Right, if I had need to use it, I'd use saliva instead. Just as powerful and not nearly as dangerous in retrieving.

I'm rather fond of blood magic. It makes perfect sense to me, to use blood for annointing sigils, whether it comes from one's veins, or vagina. I've never done the blood-brother/blood-sister thing with anyone. There's probably something to it for those who have. However, I am cautious about how often I use blood in a ritual, so I choose to reserve it for something special. Though I'm also open to blood divinations. My use of it has been to dress sigils, and for the protection of a particular family member. Now I realize the concern some might have about blood-binding yourself to others, but seeing as I have always felt a very deep bond with this person in particular, it seems natural.

Like Azakel puts his "hated" into the works, this instance I describe puts a different set of emotions into play - those more akin to love and protection.

Hehe, I think I was drunk when I posted that. But it still holds true, I am not above a hex are two. But the real first time I used blood in magick was in a healing spell I did for someone I care about.
