Did he repent?
As far as I remember, he even denies he did it.
With all the cameras filming it...
I didn't follow it too closely - well hardly as much as JFKs - so I don't know. The parole board has passed him so who am I to argue, and as others have commented, he's unlikely to be much of a risk at his age, and quite likely to be a victim.

Sirhan Sirhan: Sen. Robert F. Kennedy's convicted assassin recommended for parole - CNN

Found this interesting piece of news just a bit ago. I am too young to remember the event. Still, it has been a reverberating topic for more than 50 years.

I am not sure what danger he would represent at 77, but his fate and release is in the hands of governor of California now apparently.
Since the son of Robert F. Kennedy, Douglas Kennedy has been able to forgive and see Sirhan as a human being, i believe other people should be able to forgive too.

I don't know how it works in the US, but here in Italy the parole is granted as reward for repentance and cooperation.

Penal law is a science too, and is secular and pragmatic. Forgiveness is a religious concept.
The secular State can award people who cooperate by saying for example why they committed a crime and who told them to commit it.

I don't know about the UK but I would think risk of future offending might be high on the list, as well as taking responsibility for one's actions.

So forgiveness can not be given by non-religious people  In the mundane world?

After all this guy was just a hitman.
His clients were never arrested.

I have always been of the same opinion. I do not believe the either assassin acted alone including Jack Ruby. Had he been tried in federal court maybe the death sentence would have applied. Robert Kennedy had made many enemies as Attorney General.

As for JFK: even if Oswald one of the shooters, he was not the only one. So many experts say the shots came from two opposite directions. Conpletely opposite. Oswald was killed by Ruby because he would have said it all. In Court.

As for RFK: Nobody knew he would have gone through the kitchens so Sirhan was hired to eliminate Robert.

Sorry all. I didn't intend for this to be a drive by posting. Sort of got busy with something and haven't been able to pull away.

Thank you all for your comments.
