The Office for National Statistics says that in the first half of 2020 England had “the longest continuous period of excess mortality of any country compared*, resulting in England having the highest levels of excess mortality in Europe for the period as a whole”.

*29 countries.

Is this the most corrupt Tory Government ever?

Johnson fails to sack his chief advisor after blatantly breaching lockdown rules
Johnson fails to sack minister who took backhanders to see through a property deal

Now, we have a Tory MP accused of rape, Rees Mogg has known about it for weeks and done nothing.... over to you Johnson.

I'm not expecting action though.

I've not even mentioned his dishonours list ... yet

So Monday and Tuesday the count of english covid 19 deaths for the day was missing from their regular news slot.

When something like this happens you can guarantee it's because Boris and co. are up to something.

Then came the news that the government will be using a different way of counting the deaths to bring the figures in line with Scotland and Ireland.

To do this slight of hand they half the the actual number of deaths.

Of course this has the added value of making the conservative government look good to their gullible voters.

Interestingly, when asked about it Boris said now was not the time to discuss the change in accounting, we should all be thinking about the tragedy in Scotland, and track and trace is working well.

Chickens coming home to roost:

Boris Johnson faces Tory wrath as party slumps in shock poll

"Johnson is facing a showdown with furious Conservative MPs over his government’s chaotic handling of Covid-19, as a new poll shows the Tories have surrendered a massive lead over Labour in just five months.

Today, in a further blow to Conservative morale, a poll by Opinium for the Observer shows Labour is now level-pegging with the Tories for the first time since last summer, before Johnson was leader. In just five months since the full lockdown was imposed by the prime minister, the tories have lost a 26-point lead over Labour who now stand neck-and-neck with the Tories on 40%.

At the end of March, shortly after Johnson imposed the full lockdown, the Conservatives were surging ahead on 54% of the vote, with Labour, awaiting the result of the party’s leadership election, on 28%. At the time Johnson's personal ratings were also very positive, but are now consistently well behind those of Labour leader Keir Starmer."

As soon as Brexit is formally done, ie next January, Boris will be on his way out.
He is a scapegoat to take the blame.

I wonder what cartoonishly corrupt human impersonator we'll get to enjoy once he skips off to enjoy his winnings. The 16th century's own Rees-Mogg perhaps? Or will that little toad Gove finally bore everyone into giving him a shot?

Stay tuned.

That's got to be the worst PMQs yet.
Six direct questions, no answers - just faux outrage.

The first question Starmer asked twice - still no answer.

Finally, after all these weeks the spineless Speaker suggests Johnson should answer the questions. Result? Nothing.

Johnson accuses Starmer of being an IRA sympathiser. Starmer was the DPP for 5 years and the work involved the prosecution of senior members of the IRA, so Starmer asks for a public retraction. The Speaker agrees. Result? Nothing.

And this is democracy in action is it?

It was awful but as you say, he seems to have got away with it.

Even Starmer gets labelled a terrorist sympathiser and he is about as right wing a Labour leader we've had in 12 years. No wonder Corbyn was so easily attacked. What a pack of dirty, lying wolves we have in the UK now and you know what, fair play for a nation so happy to vote for a racist. The chicken are coming home to roost....
