Well, what say y'all?

I'm safe posting this.
But it might could be possibly dangerous
for some interested posters in some places
to broach the subject. So here it goes.

I have no problem sitting this one out. I didn't make the team, so it's easier.

I can see not preventing athletes from attending.
But perhaps our government should boycott.
The diplomats are staying home, right? I remember that being a headline a few weeks ago. I am in support of it, China is not a great place.

Dangerous for some posters.
I'll stop pulling punches, the human rights violations alone should be a wakeup call. I know it isn't that easy, but I would be in support of moving our business elsewhere. As long as we financially support their atrocities, they will continue.

Olympic Boycotts are useless gestures of protest. I'd prefer our Olympiads and U.S. diplomats enjoying themselves in Beijing along with President Xi Jinping, the Central Committee and invited company.

We should have never recognized the CCP as the legit Chinese government in the first place. But this is a decent gesture, to start with.

China pretty much owns TikTok. 80 million Americans log into it every day. Are we boycotting it too?

The Olympics is just a platform for athletes to compete. I don't think athletes or nations should boycott.

I think the International Olympic Committee should establish moral guidelines for nations that want to host the games. If the nations have dubious moral policies, then it's their problem that they don't get the games. If they want the games, then clean up their act.

I suspect the IOC is open to any nation that will put up the money.

The US would never be able to compete if moral guidelines were established.

I'd say so.

Especially in light of Peng Shuai's disappearance and highly suspicious interview she's just resting at home and everything is fine. Disappearing yet once again very much out of character.

I would have enjoyed the China Olympics otherwise.

You bet we should boycott, for the Uyghurs and countless other... I have no word for it, to describe the horror.

What's that? You're going to send over all your top athletes, but you aren't going to send people over who might have strong objections to immoral actions? Great! (They weren't invited anyways).
