Brandy Temperature

At what temperature should Brandy be consumed?

I picked up a bottle of Brandy for my Samhain ritual. I have never had Brandy before, but I have heard of people consuming it at different temperatures. The poll is self explanatory. What do you prefer?

I made it multiple choice in case you feel that more than one is an acceptable option.

I would assume it's meant to be consumed at room temperature considering it is made from wine.

But, then again, I like all of my liquor at room temperature.

I hate brandy and I don't drink alcohol. However I have tended bar at a country club and brandy is served room temperature and then warmed by the hands. Some ''foreign visitors'' aka ''Americans'' :p aka heathens would drink it over ice but would be looked upon with quite disdain. Like all drinks if it is cold you won't taste it as strongly, so if you don't like brandy over ice is the way to go.

Oh for some reason I think this will appeal to you ;)

Try a little at various temperatures and then drink it however you prefer. Don't worry about adhering to silly rituals and traditions.

Well for the record, I will be sharing this Brandy with a God. I may hold it close to my body for a bit before or maybe set it next to the hot stove, but it is chilly out in the evenings lately. It's more about how He may enjoy it served than what I want though.

Any tips on choosing a Brandy, do we just go for higher prices to get a richer taste?
I asked the guy at the liquor store. That isn't always the best way, as they may try to sell what costs more or what isn't selling. StarChaser was with me though and she said that was the right one. If unsure about any new liquor that you are unfamiliar with, 50mL and 200mL bottles are great because you aren't out upwards of $20USD for a full fifth.

Good point. I have, so far, limited myself to Spanish brady (French is also popular but more expensive) out of curiosity. The minimum size is normally quite large e.g. 1 litre.

I am currenty working on a bottle of Convidado de Baco - Solera Gran Reserva (Jerez).

Interestingly this site gives it 92 out of 100 points at a price of 11 dollars (I cannot believe that is the same bottle, perhaps it is not Gran Reserva):
Search Our Large Database of Spirits Ratings and Spirits Reviews

It gives Gran Duque De Alba Solera Gran Reserva Brandy, 93 points. Personally I found the Convidado de Baco much richer for a similar price. Here is a photo ;)

I don't expect you to know these necessarily, but I mention it as it was a place to start making comparisons :)

Yummy, I might have to treat myself to a glass...

I wholeheartedly agree.
I'm slowly working my way through various whiskeys that way, 1 pint at a time.

Smoke

Done here.
Brand is drunk warm. Not heated, but warm. One of the purposes of the brandy snifter is to allow the brandy to draw warmth from the hand.

Well the event took place last night. I intended it to be warm, but I hold my rituals outside and it was a tad chilly. So, the Brandy wound up being consumed almost room temperature, but slightly chilled.
