Good. We caused the problem, let’s now fix it. If only we could fix human overpopulation, all would be well.A Texas company is working on bringing back the dodo bird from extinction. It also intends to bring back the wooly mammoth and the Tasmanian tiger.
The dodo and thylacine still have viable ecological niches, and could be functional players.Good. We caused the problem, let’s now fix it. If only we could fix human overpopulation, all would be well.
I would worry more about the genetic diversity needed to generate a stable population. Could we make just one? Probably, but what good would just one or even just two do? The inbreeding would be severe. The dodo and thylacine still have viable ecological niches, and could be functional players.
Wooly mammoths, on the other hand, are more iffy.
Did we learn nothing from Jurassic Park?! LOLI'll get excited when they bring back t Rex and the raptors.
Or should I be terrified?
Anyways , what happened to bring back the woolly mammoth?
Maybe they can find some viable DNA but unlikely. At best, scientists may locate some strand fragments but they'd have to patch the missing areas with some Libertarian and a dash of Atheist to hardwire resistance to what led to their original demise. But can they bring back sane Republicans?
