Law degree or not, this is English Law, he was warned, he'd done it before, he was warned again and still chose to ignore the warnings. He is either incredibly stupid or did it on purpose to become a martyr to the cause; the fact that you and NAN are up in arms about proves that it is probably the latter.I don't know what you have studied, but I have a law degree. This is a clear case of " transgressing the principle of proportionality of the penalty".
That is, you can disobey the judge's orders with the culpa (negligence) and not the dolus (intention), but a proportional penalty can be a high mulct, or fine.
Nine months detention is absolutely not compatible with this case.
Italian newspapers before writing that article consult jurists who agree on that.
