Bruce lee & zen

This is a pretty cool blurb as well.
Bruce Lee also appeared at the 1967 Long Beach International Karate Championships and performed various demonstrations, including the famous "unstoppable punch" with USKA world karate champion Vic Moore. Bruce would announce to Vic Moore that he was going to throw a straight punch to his face, and all he had to do was block it. He would take several steps back and ask if Moore was ready, when Moore nodded in affirmation, Lee would glide towards him until he was within striking range. He would then throw a straight punch directly at Moore's face and stop before impact. In eight attempts, Moore blocked zero punches.

The thing is, is Bruce actuall backed up and had to make an advance each time with his whole body before throwing the punch. Not everyone can achieve that! Not a single time could his punch be detected or blocked.

The explosion then comes from my chambered position, not from the floor.
This is the crux of the matter altogether. It is scientifically proven that the force behind any good blow comes from the ground up, in an instant of a second properly transferring the tremendous energy from our base into a single direction.
If we start from the chamber as you suggest, we lose out on all the body has to offer. I believe once you "feel" the difference, your life will change forever. Maybe we can meet up one day, as I would love to show you. Maybe I am beating a dead horse here, but I am very passionate about this stuff.

Again, I think we learned different physics. Things naturally go "towards" the ground, not away from it.

If you have a video of Scott Adkins kicking without his 8 feet of running space, and generating the same power. Then we'll talk. No one is just going to stand there while you charge at them. Another thing I've noticed after watching that video of him again, and slowing it down. He chambers. His kick is more traditional than Bruce's. Which is probably why it's powerful. (other than his 8 feet of running space).

I know you're passionate. As am I. Which is why I think this is a dead end conversation.

As for breaking. That's no problem. I've done 8 boards with speed break. Held together with tape. I did it with a turning side kick. Dropping them out of the air and breaking them, is kind of a parlor trick. I'm in control of when it drops. Kicking someone else that actually moves out of my control. That's when proper timing is actually used.

And about him never being blocked. :D I used to do that to kids in high school all the time. Made tons of friends that way. I would even have them put their hands on either side of their face to give him an advantage. Bruce was definitely a showman wasn't he? Great for movies. :D

I really don't want to argue about this anymore though. It's getting a bit annoying. I'm bored with it.
