the story above is a little distorted one what i read is that ..

a disciple asked ," Does god exist ?"
buddha ,"" have i ever said that god exists?"
disciple:: "so this means god doesnt exist ?"
buddha :: "Have i ever said that god doesnt exist?"
i only say that do your prayer as thats necessary and i surely going to give back fruit..


actually historians agree that Budhha very cleverly saved from topic that God exists or not.. while Lord Mahavira denied from existence of God.

actually at that time some pundits in hinduism were corrupt and making fool of people on name of vedas relegion and god so for that reason buddha saved himself from saying that God exists as if he said that all the things pundits priests said would become correct...

but if he said No , then he would be lying as HE knew God does exist as he himself was!!
