Buddhist Role-Playing Game

ManTimeForgot

Temporally Challenged
I dunno... It could work. Take various Buddhist aphorisms and put them into effect. "If you see Buddha on the road, kill him."

Can you imagine that? Some dude randomly killing your character that had to sit around for several days doing nothing just to become a "Buddha." Might even actually learn some Buddhist principles that way... Non-attachment, maybe?

:D

Non attachment perspective might work as for a true Buddhist to be attached to any doctrine, even a Buddhist one, is to betray the Buddha...

I know this is a bit late for a response to this but there is a game called TIBET be Vajra Enterprises http://www.vajraenterprises.com/ it has a lot of Buddhist based stuff in this game. It is a bit off in it's research there are problems in it that I have found for example: It claims that Dakinis are only for Tantric sex which is WRONG. Good Karma gives you enlightened powers also WRONG only levels of enlightenment (Jhana) give you powers called SIDDHIS. that ultimate unilghtnemnt comes when all your attachments are extinguished partly true but also you need to recognize Pristine Awareness to become enlightened as well. there are other problems in the game but over all it's a cool idea and is certainly playable as it is. I'm working on fixing all the problems in the game and sending to the author for a second edition.

I enjoy playing Asoka in Sid Meier's Civilization 4. Unfortunately, I've not had the time to play the newer revisions of the game, but playing Asoka and spreading Buddhism around the world is nice. :)
