I like bugs, not as much as some people here...and we have an ant issue in my house, so I squash them. I also took out 2 nests were using the wood in my deck as a home. IT was a safety issue and my kids saftey take priority for me. One the other hand I'm teaching my kids about bugs and we let spiders go outside (except for that one that dropped in my face and freaked me out to the point I squished him as a reflex). It's a 'try not to kill bugs, except Misquitos' sort of attitude at my house.

Saw, I swear, follow my advice and spray yourself with real lemon juice. It's always worked for me. Always! Bugs go nowhere near you!
They really like me though. I had on DEET repellent and a citronella candle right next to me and the mosquitos still attacked me.

I'm the same way. I think when mosquitos are born they're given a pep talk and it goes something like this..."See this guy" (holding a picture of me) "If you see him...get him, at ALL costs."

Two days ago, I saved a junior in high school from two scary half-inch beetles that obviously were going to eat him or something horrible like that....

No, to his credit, he didn't panic. He didn't save them, either, though - they were both stuck on their backs. I picked them up and put them outside. He looked at me oddly, but he thought I was strange before that, so no worry!

My favorite thing to do is to go to my grandparents' house in South Carolina (Boiling Springs) and lie on their swing in the sun....the yellow jackets and bees come up and tickle my face, and there's this delicious flower smell, and I'm just madly in love with those yellow jackets and bees. They're adorable and fuzzy and so sweet. They just brush over my face to see if I'm a flower or not and go on their way :)

If I get stung on the face I have to go the the Hospital quickly. Last time I got stung on my leg my whole upper leg swelled up. So that would be a no go for me.

Bugs are squishy and icky and generally gross.
Um, they're only squishy if you squish them. As for icky, they're actually very clean. They often have exoskeletons, which keeps their body much cleaner and safer than our bodies are. As for gross...I guess that's just a matter of opinion.

Bless this house, oh Lord, we cry
Please keep it cool in mid-July.
Bless the walls where termites dine,
While ants and roaches march in time.
Bless our yard where spiders pass
Fire ant castles in the grass.
Bless the garage, the home too please-
Carpenter beetles, ticks and fleas.
Bless the love bugs, two by two,
The gnats and mosquitoes that feed on you.
Millions of creatures that fly or crawl,
In Florida, Lord, you've put them all!
But this is home, and here we'll stay,
So thank you Lord, for INSECT SPRAY!!
