Build my own candidate you say?
I want someone who is, and in no particular order;
pro-choice,
anti-war,
anti-tax for the middle class and small businesses,
isn't owned by any corporations,
dismantles the larger banks,
removes the federal reserve,
wishes to end all wars in the middle east unless we feel the need to attack ISIS as an actual entity rather than the useless garbage that we have done up until now
raises the minimum wage
Supports and pushes for single payer healthcare
Introduces laws and sanctions to lower the cost of healthcare
make it illegal for drug companies to advertise on TV
make it illegal for drug companies to cater to doctors and have laws in place that introduces specific policies for the transparency of drug companies. The products should only ever be able to stand on the legs of the proven and lab tested results of the drugs.
Legalize marijuana
Improve boarder control with a focus on drug trafficking
Make it easier for immigrants to get here legally and obtain citizenship
Increase the budget for public schools
Make COMMUNITY COLLEGE free
Put limitations on the practical costs of Universities that are public universities. Stay the hell out of private universities in general.
Put clear separation of church and state as well as freedom of non-christian religion and freedom from religion.
Support Unions
Support regulations and regulatory bodies
Create the largest mass move of action to improve out bridges, roads and other publicly maintained structures.
Reduce the size and cost of the military significantly
Attack the problem of homelessness and poverty in an intelligent realistic manor that is geared towards results.
Discontinue the penny
Put strict caps on the amount of money that can be allowed to influence politics.
Create a research organization that monitors the congress for breeches of new laws that will stop lobbyists.
Introduce term limits in Washington for all elected positions
Decriminalize all hard drugs and treat it as a health care problem.
Overall the entire justice department.
specifically end the practice of private prisons
Release all non-violent drug offenses
Reduce the terms of all non-violent crimes
Re-build our prisons to make them humane and with proper protection of inmates from not only themselves but especially from the guards.
Focus on rehabilitation and opportunity in prisons
Reduce the fines of municipal charges
Removal of all private organizations that work for correctional facilities for collection of fees in municipal violations or parole.
Make it illegal to charge individuals for parole visits
give renters certain rights in all 50 states such as the 30 day eviction notice in non-violent or non-destructive cases.
Reduce the interest rate for all federal student loans to .5% interest rate with a 30 year forgiveness cap.
Remove the tax code as it is now and re-build it with a simpler framework from scratch by economists whose identities are to remain secret until after the law is voted on. It should also be reviewed by economists at every level to advise congress.
Lower the drinking age to 18
Make it cheaper to keep manufacturing in the united states via removal of tax loopholes that allow for outsourcing of production.
Trade and labor deals with Mexico for Mexican cities near the boarder to give workers legal access to work on both sides of the boarder for citizens of both countries.
A leader who will look at racial issues not with a tentative hand and baited breath and neither an avid denier of racial issues but someone who is able to comment on the racial issues and come up with fair and intelligent goal oriented policies.
Pro-conservation and green energy.
Hard on heavy polluters
anti-fracking
Secular in their workings in politics.
Science forward with continual increases to the NASA budget and public denouncement of religious fundamentalist objections to science.
Push for 2nd language development in all levels of school but heightened increased focus in elementary and middle schools.
I'm sure I can find plenty more but this is my list.
