Some of the times I have shown anger here in RF has been a cry for help to stop a certain person. But it was notvtaken seriously

That's sad. There are bully's here.

I too have lashed out here in anger because sometimes enough is enough.
I guess I can be a butthole just as much as anyone can. Not my best quality but it does come in handy sometimes(even though it has also gotten me a few warnings:eek:)

That's what IGNORE is for. Seriously, use it more, your sanity will thank u

Yes and no. If you have to ignore them, they win. I won't allow that so I don't ignore anyone.(though I think some have ignored me for pushing back :D).
Its all up to the person and what they can deal with.

The problem is if those who read threads here don't find it as bullying they will not stop it. But for those who experience bullying it hurts like hell.

Well, in as in all things, it depends.
If the person is just challenging you, ya that's one thing.
If they're attacking, to tear you down and destroy, that's another.
Not lost is the narrow divide between the two.
Do they attack to make you reconsider, or make you lose hope.
The motivation as apparent is at issue. Which is toxic?

So if a trangsgender, a gay, a druggy, a religious person, a non-religious person, a poor person, etc kills themselves because of being bullied its their fault for being hepless?

I don't follow your logic
And I don't follow yours. How is someone at fault for being helpless? Being helpless is just a fact, no value attributed.
If anyone, parents and teachers are at fault for not teaching people to be confident and resourceful and society for stigmatizing some groups. Sometimes the opposite happens, people are taught to be helpless. I started a thread some time ago about learned helplessness.

With me its different.

I'm not religious but also not against religion. Will speak up for either and get slack for doing so.
I'm not dem or repub, I see good and bad in both. Will speak up for either and get slack for doing so.
I don't like Trump or Biden.
Will speak up for either and get slack for doing so.

It all depends on If I agree or disagree.
If I agree its cool. If I disagree then it isn't cool lol

Maybe I misunderstood your post of
It may sound cruel, but, yes, it was because he was helpless. Do you think you'd kill yourself when someone told you you are worthless because you are white?

True

IF it happens when you're young, you don't have the power nor tools to put it in perspective, hence it is very much damaging to your confidence. And when done at a young age, chances are that it will leave a lasting scar.

IF you had a good start at life, and you were able to build up self confidence THEN bullying still sux, but the impact will be less damaging, because your self confidence is strong and you can see that the bully is just a "little angry child, without compassion, love, empathy", who tries to compensate this by making other people look small, bad etc.

In reality, the bully is the "sad" person and he suffers from mental and spiritual disease. Still he should be stopped, because like a killer, his behavior kills people emotionally

Is it bullying taunting a person because they are religious?
Example telling someone they are stupid/uneducated for believing in a myth

Is it bullying taunting a person because they are non-religious?
Example telling someone they are going to hell for not believing.

Is it bullying taunting a person for their gender?
Example women are infierior to men. Or how can you be female if you have a penis. Etc.

Is it bullying taunting a person because of their sexual preference?
Example being gay is an abomination. Or you're a whore.

Is it bullying taunting a person because of their party affiliation?
Example your ignorant if you follow the right/left.[/SIZE]

Why or why not on any or all?
All are about belittling others, and as such I call it bullying:
a) Undermining the self confidence of the other
b) Just to glorify oneself

Personally I don't see "stupid" and "uneducated" as the same thing.

For many people identifying them as uneducated is simply identifying the problem so that a solution (investing in education) can be found.

In my opinion.

I suppose all of the above might be considered bullying, although oftentimes, bullying really doesn't have any particular reason or motivation. Bullying is mainly just a contest of power, a way of saying "I'm bigger, stronger, and more powerful than you," just for its own sake.

When it comes to political issues among rival factions, if there is bullying, then it might be a way of saying "We (our faction) is bigger, stronger, and more powerful than your faction." Of course, that's not always clear cut, so sometimes it can escalate - just to see who's really tougher.

Bullying, imo, is attacking someone who is either physically, mentally or emotionally incapable of defending themselves.
The bully can attack with little fear of having to defend themselves.

I'm glad you are here. You are of immense worth.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Why would one want to beat a perceived bully on a forum at their own game?
Such people don't know when to stop, they always talk back and never seem to change their mind and always have a reason or excuse for themselves to justify what they do.
And if you're not going to change your mind either, then what's the point in continuing the argument?
I know one's own (injured) pride can make it tempting, but it's not worth it if one desires peace imo.

Yep.

And I would call nothing of the above bullying (to me).

Bullying always assumes a power difference. The bully can only bully someone else because the victim is helpless.
This reminds me of cops....& moderators (on other forums, of course).
Some seek the power to bully.
Others discover the bully within.
And many bully simply because they accept a system they're in.

Exactly. And there you have a real power difference (not only a perceived one). Cops, moderators, public officials have the power to bully - even those who have self confidence.
