Burt Reynolds Dead At 82

I hope Burt's first experience in the afterlife was seeing Dom DeLuise dressed up in his Captain Chaos outfit waiting by a car. Dom looks up, smiles, and says, "Road trip!"

For me, his most memorable film has to be Deliverance.

The film is infamous for cutting costs by not insuring the production and having the actors do their own stunts (most notably, Jon Voight climbed the cliff himself). In one scene, the stunt coordinator decided that a scene showing a canoe with a dummy of Burt Reynolds in it looked phony; he said it looked "like a canoe with a dummy in it". Reynolds requested to have the scene re-shot with himself in the canoe rather than the dummy. After shooting the scene, Reynolds, coughing up river water and nursing a broken coccyx, asked how the scene looked. The director responded, "like a canoe with a dummy in it."[citation needed]

Regarding the courage of the four main actors in the movie doing their own stunts without insurance protection, Dickey was quoted as saying all of them "had more guts than a burglar". In a nod to their stunt-performing audacity, early in the movie Lewis says, "Insurance? I've never been insured in my life. I don't believe in insurance. There's no risk."[citation needed]

Never my favorite actor but I loved those two, and wasn't there a third one?, or was the elephant the 2nd?

Two Cannonballs and three Smokey and the Bandits, I believe. I haven't seen them since I was a little kid (80's) so I don't really recall what scene would be from which movie.

I am huge fan of Smokey and the Bandit (lack of tv channels when I was young; farm). Time for a memorial binge.

I hope this isn't too inappropriate or disrespectful, I mean it to be a sort of tribute.

When I was about 13 I was watching his cop show 'Dan August'. He was smokin' hot. I'm lying in bed watching the show, kind of squirming, didn't know why and I got my first... well, I think you can guess.

So thanks Burt for making me a man. ;)

He was smokin' hot.
When I first heard that Reynolds had posed nude, I had already learned about magazines with naked women. I just had no idea that some had naked men.
I went to a lot of trouble to find a copy of Cosmopolitan with the famous pic.
A lot of trouble!
Boy was I disappointed to find that he was so shy.

And please,
"I didn't cover it with my hand! It was my arm..."
