Wanting murder to be illegal is always a good goal. The family unit may be dying, but people still fear prison.
I agree. I always look at it as, what if that murdered baby could have grown up to help prevent polution or anything else that plagues the world. That may be stretching it, but I'm sure everyone here is also glad to not have been aborted.

I agree with that. The 3 most important things with children are patience, patience, and patience! But although I know this isn't the majority of cases, I have known some people who were raised by good parents, and decided that what they really wanted in life was to goof off at all costs - and normally the people who loved them most where the ones who paid up. And then there are people like me who came from very messed up family situations and still turned out (relatively) okay.

Like unwanted children fear their abusive and negligent parents.

Or they could have grown up and polluted the Earth more and led a selfish life without benefiting society in the least.

I wouldn´t be so sure.

I was pleasantly surprised with his nomination. I wonder if Shrub knows who he nominated? I don't expect that "gratitude" will ever be a factor in his decisions.

There is nothing wrong with white men, but as a mixed female, I'd like to see some diversity on the courts and in government. : P I also have a problem with people who will never get pregnant making laws about abortion.
And that right there folks is the problem with our court system. Most people in America and in many cases judges themselves, do not understand that the Judiciary DOES NOT MAKE LAW!!!! The high court is there to judge the constitutionality of the law. The state supreme courts judge the constitutionality according to the state constitution and the U.S. Supreme Court does the same for the U.S. Constitution. Laws are made by congress. Thus, Roe Vs. Wade was a decision made by a Supreme Court that was unconstitutional because it created law, it disn't enforce or hold an opinion on a current law, only on a current practice.

As a Democrat, I have no problem with the Judge Roberts nomination thus far. Any nomination for the Supreme Court must be carfully considered, but Judge Roberts appears to be very qualified.

A word of advice for my fellow Democrats, if the party wants to nominate a Supreme Court Justice, it must first win the Presidency. Don't expect a conservative president to nominate a liberal.
